  • Awesome bunk bed that's sturdy and well built. (Have Advil ready for your back after its complete!)
Color: White
I'm a handy person and was excited to tackle the building of this bed. Product ships in multiple packages that aren't necessarily labeled as to their contents. So, a large work area is a must to unpack and organize the different pieces. Products are well packed, and each piece is labeled with a small sticker for easy identification during the build process. 99% of the pieces were perfect, and only one or two had small imperfections that were able to be hidden on the wall side of the bed. It took me about 7 hours by myself to build the entire bed with storage drawers with a few lower back breaks and lunch. Factored into that time was also the multiple trips to and from the garage where I was assembling pieces and then taking them into the bedroom. The pieces went together exactly as they should have. I was impressed at the exactness of the fit when attaching multiple pieces together. Screw holes and dowel holes lined right up with no issue. I only needed another persons help when taking one bed fully assembled and stacking it on the other. Otherwise, the pieces are able to be moved by any ordinary capable person, and if you're assembling it in the room its going in, it'll be even easier. I chose the garage as I needed to organize all the parts and get my game plan. I will say, you NEED to use a powered screw driver even though I think the manufacturer doesn't suggest it. If you don't have one, I don't know if i'd attempt building this myself honestly. Your fingers and hands will suffer greatly as there are a LOT of things to screw in/together. For instance, there are (I think) 56 screws, 28 per bed for just the wooden slats alone that hold the mattress up. Do yourself a favor and use a power tool. Turn the torque down so you don't split the wood, and hand tighten the things that need to be nice and tight. The only "obstacle" I encountered and I have a hard time even calling it that, was when reading the directions as to which way to orient the stairs (left entry or right). I ended up using the "right" which actually is "left" to my brain. The kids go up the stairs and go left into the bed. The only thing I can think the manufacturer meant by "right" in my case is the railing is on the right, not the entrance. So, that's what I put in my mind as I went through the multiple steps for a "right" orientation. Other than that, the quality is superb and the instructions are fantastic. For an almost $1000 bed for kids, I'd hope to have these things at a minimum, and they delivered. Its a big purchase that I dont regret one bit. ... show more

  • Nice bunk
Color: Grey
My kids love it. Good solid material.takes some elbow grease to get it together def takes two to tango. But it’s a great bunk with plenty of storage just what we needed

  • Sturdy and solid. Worth the extra $$
Color: White
Looking at other options that are less expensive don’t have the storage or the sturdiness. Say that this is solid wood and thus it should be more sturdy. Sturdy it is. After assembly the kids can climb it like a jungle gym with no issues. The steps are super tall so that can be tough for the kids but they adapt and just go slower. Once you buy this, I can’t see you needing to get the kids another bed until teenage years. -Sturdy/heavy -Solid construction -Assembly took about 6 hours, solo. Broke it up in 2 days due to work. -Storage space Small upgrades to request. -Wish it had 2 middle braces if the kids decide to jump more. -Wish it had one more vertical brace on the long sides to beef up support. -Wish the top small guard had 2 pins for lateral support, instead of just 1. -Wish delivery boxes where marked showing what was the bed, steps, and storage. You can make it out but a picture would help simplify it. No real Cons as the above are just quality of life adds. The price is a little high but you get a Solid bed that will last. Pay now and not worry for over a decade when the kids outgrow it. ... show more

  • Overall love this bunk bed set for my two boys
Color: Grey
Overall love this bunk bed set for my two boys, ages 11 and 9. Positives: Came in 5 big boxes on a pallet. All boxes were double boxed to prevent damage. All materials inside the boxes were very well packaged. Some were wrapped in foam sheets, some in paper, some had cardboard separators and there were extra foam blocks (very well done). Assemble was pretty straightforward and simple. I did it mostly myself with a few assists from wife and kids occasionally (and neighbor when it came time to lift the top bed up to its position) in about 6 hours. The wood was all in good shape with a good paint job. Instructions were mostly clear and easy to follow. Loved how they labeled each piece with little grocery store stickers with numbers on them. At first I was pissed that I'd have to take all of them off each piece and that they'd leave a sticky residue, but they actually thought enough to place the stickers on the joints so they would not be seen once assembled. Brilliant!!! Negatives: The wood seems a little soft and I'm expecting that the kids will ding it up pretty quickly. Color was a little bit lighter gray than the picture seemed to indicate. I'd call it gun metal gray or almost silver. Dowels used for initial connections were a little weak and there were no extras supplied. 1 or two of the instructions weren't quite clear and caused me to have to take apart and redo the top bunk. Would like to have seen another set of screws to screw each support slat down to the support beam on the top bunk. Would also like to have seen a support beam for the bottom bunk, but there isn't one (perhaps to make room for the drawers or trundle if you ordered it). One side piece to one of the drawers split when I screwed in the rail. Need to wood glue, clamp, let set overnight, pre-drill, and then re-assemble it tomorrow. Also one set of dowels its corresponding and pre-drilled holes didn't line up very well (the back pieces to the stairs), so I had to sand down the dowels to get them to fit. Overall: Very pleased with this purchase! ... show more
