We had an old, torn dog bed that needed to be replaced. The old one didn't have sides, but was a extra large, flat, thick supportive one with that egg crate type foam in it. I also had a small, cheap round one with sides, that Casper liked because it had a place to rest his head. This is the best of both of those, put together and he loves it. It took a couple of days before he really started using it. I had removed the other beds and put this in his special spot... and he checked it out, but sat on our laps instead of the new bed. Once I put a few toys on there and he really checked it out and began to use it. It's been about a week and he is really loving it. The bed is soft and supportive and he really likes to use the sides to rest his head like a pillow. I like that it's WASHABLE and also has a non-slip bottom, so it generally stays in place and doesn't slide easily when he runs in the room and hops on it. He loves to be warm and cuddly in the winter especially and the velvety soft fabric feels so nice. Well made and very functional. I love that the foam mattress easily zips out to wash the cover, as my old one was spot clean only. So this is a big plus when he comes in dirty and tracks in dirt,grass and of course his usual shedding. Will be much easier to keep clean and fresh. The best part, is he seems to really like it. I got the large, even though he is a smaller guy (about 18 lbs)... he likes to spread out and to keep toys handy. ... show more

A bit pricey, but I think they were worth it. Bought the large and medium sizes for the two puppos, and they are quite happy! So am I. The sizing is perfect, big enough they can really stretch out, but the side rails give them a 'lean against.' A very nice bed. Soft, nice eggshell cushion inside that can be removed. Bed zips up. We got the blue which is a really nice color blue. Outside can be machine washed but I air dry so it doesn't shrink. I also wash the cushion by hosing off with soap and water and then toss in the dryer; afraid washer will rip it apart. Both of our dogs like the bed a lot. We bought the large bed as one of our dogs is at least 70 lbs and he fits in it just fine. ... show more

This is an excellent dog bed. My dog Leo loved his dog bed and looked forward to nappy time. The bed lasted 2 years and had been washed about 6 times. (Washes very nicely.) Then recently, we had major yard work done and Leo had an anxiety problem and chewed a hole in the bed and began to tear the stuffing out. So, he has a new one now and he loves it. I bought this in July 24 it is now May 26 just starting to fall apart on the top. The egg part cushion is great my dog doesn't abuse it or anything. I feel like it should last longer than a year and a half.
