These are NOT waterproof or Bug Proof but that’s okay you could put those under this which is what I did. There were advertised as extra fluffy and would add extra comfort to your mattress. I did as instructed to let it lay at least 48 hours open on the bed. I even put it in the dryer on air fluff. It didn't get any thicker or fluffy. My old one was better than this, but I'd already tossed it out. So I am stuck with these. So let me start by saying if you frequently wash your mattress cover like I do, this may be a good choice. It is not the old cheap terry cloth covers so it looks nice, but because it really is NOT fluffy in spite of the advertised photos, you can machine wash it, and it will dry by the next day. I actually threw mine in the dryer on air fluff to speed that process up. However, It is not even water resistant so if that is important, this is not the one for you. Bedsure Queen Size Mattress Pad - Soft Cooling Mattress Cover Padded, Quilted Fitted Mattress Protector with 8-21" Deep Pocket, Breathable Fluffy Pillow Top, Grey, 60x80 Inches I am so happy with this mattress protector, my reason for the purchase of the Gray Mattress Cover protector is for my colored bed sheets that may bleed onto my white mattress, possibly turning it to a undesirable color that's not wanted,so spending a few $$'s for an ounce of prevention work's well for me -- opposed to having to spend close to a thousand dollars for new mattress. The mattress protector is soft and comfortable, fits snuggle over my mattress and 4-inch pillow top , covers all 4 side's nicely the elastic tightly secures the material of the mattress protector thoroughly under the mattress, making it impossible for slipping off the corners of the bed, this is a good find to invest in there are a few color choices to choose from, and the price is is basically a steal for the quality of you get ,this washed and dried well, no shrinkage or fading, and no pilling ,there were no chemical smells , very easy to put onto the mattress, just as you would a fitted sheet. I have paid the price for learning that a "mattress cover" or "mattress pad" is not to be confused with "mattress topper." The latter does pretty much everything the former claim, but also adds an inch of soft padding and costs around $10 more, well worth it.
