I was looking for a good men's dress shoe with a Goodyear Welt rather than it being glued to the sole. I then read the reviews of this product. After now having walked over 5 miles in these shoes, I am ready to write a review. First off, the price is right for these shoes. These are not your $300 Italian men's Goodyear Welt shoes, but they are a good discounted option. Now, you are going to read several reviews that mention the smell. Yes, whatever chemicals they use to manufacture these shoes is apparent from opening the box. However, the smell does abate after a few days of being in open air. So, I would NOT let that be a reason that you should not choose this shoe. It's a minor issue. Second, you may see a few reviews about how the sole of the shoe wears down. Actually, it appears that they place an intermittent base on the bottom of the shoe that starts to wear off as you walk in the shoe. However, the design that is on the bottom of the shoe will remain. That has not worn off after miles of walking. With that said, I am impressed with the price and the wear of shoe. I initially ordered these shoes as I order other men's dress shoes: one size bigger than I usually wear. However, do NOT do that. Just order your normal shoe size. They will fit comfortably. After several miles of wear, I still need a few miles to go until they start wearing in perfect to my foot. So, I've only worn these for 2 or 3 days so far. I'll do an update after a few weeks/months to see if they fit improves (look for that update). Until then, I highly recommend these shoes if you're looking for a classic men's dress shoe. I am very happy with the shoe. The attention to detail, especially with the paisley patten material inside the shoe, really surprised me. I’ve seen reviews where the shoe was not recommended for everyday use. That’s okay with me. 8.11.22 Update: I wrote the review below as I was disappointed with the shoe due to an insole issue. However, after the review the company immediately reached out to me to offer a full refund and have gone the extra mile to make me happy. Mistakes happen but this was great customer service to make things right! The insole of the right food is already detached from the shoe after the first day. Good quality dress shoe for the price. I wear a size 8, purchased a size 8, it fits like a size 8- just right. Finish is good as expected. I have added to my four days per week dress shoe rotation. Overall- happy with purchase and would recommend.

The sole/liner comes up after use (daily) but can be placed back down manually. The outsole/bottom of the shoe has deformed a bit and is now a bit misshapen but they are still holding up well. Good for the money, but expect to replace within a year if worn 3-4 days a week.

Overall look, Great (got immediately noticed) Overall feel, Good (its a dress shoe and new still for me so, a bit stiff) Overall purchase, satisfied, Drawbacks just know you're getting slick soles and can leave heel marks. But, for the price, you can't get a nicer shoe. 100% would purchase again. I already have two pairs in Black and Dark Brown, thinking about ordering Light Brown. The shoes look great and fit well. The Dark Brown color is hard to tell from the Black color (I bought both) in low light so I almost left the house wearing the wrong pair since I didn't turn all the lights on getting ready. (I leave before the rest of the house in the mornings). The photo is when I tried them on. You can see the dark color against my jeans and a clear view of the stitching which is lighter and stands out. The stitching on the Black shoes is solid black. I did not know they had leather soles until after I got them on. This is fine, it just means they slide a little bit so be careful. Also. I checked and the heels DO make black marks on certain floors. That matters around our office. So, if you have floors that get marked up easily you need to know you'll likely leave a trail if you aren't careful. ... show more
