I personally don't care, but some people might...the two beds are two different shades of gray. Other than that, I wish they had a little more anti-slip barrier on the bottom. I ordered a brown, 24" x 18" bed, currently priced as ~$22. The bed ships folded in half lengthwise, highly compressed, and tightly rolled up. Upon removal from the packaging, it easily plumps up and assumes the correct length/width measurements. The thickness of this size bed is given as 2.5". I'd guess that this is indeed the average thickness (as it would be determined via some kind of calculus method, not a simple average, haha). The depth at the corners is 4 inches. The depth at the sewn-in "tuft" areas is 0 inches. The bed does feel reasonably thick and soft and is not completely or fully compressible based on my compressing the thickness between my two hands. I'm very pleased to try this out in my terrier's airline crate. What I like: The dimensions are correct. It does have some actual thickness to it. It does not seem to compress to a completely flat condition. I'm agnostic about the aesthetics of textured plush fabric, but I think the bed as a whole will help him keep warm (possibly too warm in the summertime). Dislike: It's fine and potentially useful for it to have a handle, but the handle seems to be made out of paper, and that really detracts from the overall impression of the bed being of "quality." If you have a young dog or one who is looking for things to chew up, you should probably just cut this thing off. It's just begging to be chewed on, if you ask me. Minor reservations: I am dubious that the plush fabric will withstand my terrier's digging. Washing this type of thing (a pillow or cushion) can be a real pain. For example, getting the whole thing wet, getting the whole thing properly rinsed, etc. But there are always trade-offs. My quibbles with the description: "Brown." This bed looks grey to me. I do not perceive it as brown at all. I included a brown item in one picture so you can judge for yourself. [Because it's possible I have a problem with my color acuity.] "Quilted design." Nothing about this is quilted. In four places, the top and bottom layers are sewn together via small circles (1 cm diameter). This is a "tufted" cushion. The stuffing can move throughout the cushion. As a whole, I think this is a good value. I will update this review if any issues arise.

The description says a large will fit up to a 70lb dog. It barely fits my 40lb dog. I am returning and ordering the xlarge for my 60lb dog. Other than size its a nice bed for the money.
