If you’re looking to layer your bed, this is the perfect middle blanket. It’s super light but adds the perfect amount of warmth. I washed it before I placed it on the bed and it washed great. I was a bit hasty when I got this. I thought a blanket should be medium weight. This blanket is thin, but heavy enough to suffice when used with a blanket over it. I love sleeping with a micro fleece blanket without a top sheet because of the snuggliness. But let's face it, they're made of polyester (plastic) and just don't breathe. Totally exacerbating night sweats. 🥵 When I found this generously sized, beautiful silvery grey cotton blanket, I was excited to order. Upon arrival I was shocked that the color is so perfect. You just never know with grey. Sometimes the hue is yuck. This is gorgeous! It has a nice, tight weave that I love because I don't get caught in it like I do with waffle weave. (My cat has snagged it.) It's soft. When I get into bed, I feel a luxury that makes me happy. Makes getting into bed feel good. Best of all, NO NIGHT SWEATS! Will surely soften with use but still pretty soft out of the package. Color seems to be true to listing/description. Bit thinner than expected but perfect for summer or layering bedding. Will throw tons of lint for the first couple wash/dry cycles but that is to be expected with the fabric. No off-gassing really and washed well. Much better quality and durability compared to this one that sheds way too much for my liking and doesn’t seem to have the color quality like the waffle. This 100% cotton blanket is soft and lightweight yet warm. I washed it in cool water and dried it on the low setting iny dryer before use The color looks good and it fits well on my queen mattress.
