Perfect I really do like it only thing is the hose is to ridge and doesn't flex and it was kinked in three spots witch did like to let the water run through it. But I got a different hose the can flex and works great

I didn't test the motorized version; I only tested the one that uses a vacuum bulb. The assembly was very easy, and everything went together as the instructions stated. My only problem is the way the hose is placed in the box, it causes huge kinks in the hose that must be removed before use. I used a heat gun to gently massage the kinks out of the hose. Once those restrictions were removed the Vaccuum was strong enough to clean gravel on the bottom of a 200-gallon tank. There is a plastic mesh filter at the top of the suction tube that prevents gravel from being sucked up and wedged in the tubing. Every now and then that filter must be checked for obstruction such as algae. I strongly suggest having a helper, because it is very deceiving just how much water volume this little thing is capable of. I was focusing on cleaning the gravel and in a matter of minutes a five-gallon bucket was already full, luckily my wife was paying attention and prevented me from making a big mess. For this type of suction device to work properly by the power of Gravity there must be at least 2 or 3 feet height difference between the bottom of the fish tank and the bottom of the wastewater bucket.

This thing works fantastic. It's suction is great and it is so easy to use. It is so much easier to clean my tank with this than the old way I previously did it. It has the power to suck up pollutants and material easily, expelling them from the tank into a bucket. It is designed very well and I actually enjoy using it. It makes tank cleaning easy.

I'd recommend this setup for aquarists with tanks that are 30-55 gallons and larger who don't like placing their hands/arms in the aquarium while performing a water change. Not good for small tanks. For a well-seasoned hobbyist like myself who has no issues getting dirty or wet, I find this equipment is a little restrictive as the rigid piping prevents full range of motion while siphoning gravel or sand. The hand pump is probably the best feature of this product—it prevents manual siphoning and potentially getting dirty water in your mouth. I like that the siphon wand comes with an extender to get deeper into the aquarium. The hose clip that keeps the hose from falling out of the water change bucket is also a useful addition. You will probably need to purchase replacement clear tubing as the tubing in the box is kinked, which severely limits flow. The manufacturer should find a way to pack the hose in a way that it does not cause it to crease. You may also need to purchase additional tubing if you have a taller tank or one that is up high. Overall, I find this equipment a little cumbersome for performing water changes compared to my usual minimalist approach (with a typical siphon tube, hose, and bucket). I like the hose clip that keeps the hose from falling out of the water change bucket.

I have a small fresh water tank. It needs cleaning very frequently. I thought this would do the job and I was right. Great vacuum gravel cleaner! Works as advertised. It is almost too big and strong for my little aquarium. I feel this would even be suitable for as 50 or 60+ gallon tank, it's just that strong. I've used it to change the water as well as clean the sides of the glass and it worked great! Highly recommend.
