This is a great side rail for a bed. I am actually using it for my grandkids when hey stay over. The guest bed is exceptionally tall. I previously would put a table chair to the side - but it wasn’t really tall enough. This rail snaps together within a few minutes. The handle can be positioned on either the left or the right with bolts. The most difficult step for me was attaching it to the queen bed using the strap. In truth, it was easier than I anticipated, and I didn’t need to lift the heavy mattress. I was able to slide the strap in between the mattress and the box strings from the head of the bed. First positioning the strap on the far side, followed by the rail side. I tightened it down, then added a knot for extra good measure. Testing the rail, it held firm with me pulling on it while my grand-daughter feigned falling. The quality of the materials seem very good. It should support anyone who sleeps int he bed and may fall off the side. Additionally, I placed the side handle towards the head of the bed. As a result, the rail did not get in the way when my grandkids aren’t staying over. The light turned on when movement was noticed and stayed on a reasonable amount of time. The magnet is not super strong, the light is easily knocked off the rail. It does, however fall right into the side pocket still providing light. I may replace the magnet for a stronger one. IMO the magnet issue is a little thing, and the light a great perk. The only con, is that it is not easily remove-able. I wish it had a separate secure buckle to attach the rail to the strap. That way it would have been easy to put it up/take it down. I am not deducting a star though, as being extra secure and not easily remove-able would be a bonus for most use. They are other methods to attach the rail for people who do not use a box spring. I did have one issue with the strap in my order. But it was so efficiently resolved that I would not hesitate to purchase this bedrail again - if I needed another one. Overall - I trust this product to keep my loved ones safe.

Dimensions: Product page says height adjustable 16" to 24". I see no way to move it down to 16 (lowest I can get it to go is 22 inches), and the highest on mine is 23 3/4 inches. They say width is 12 inches, mine is 12 3/8. They say width extension length is 25", mine is 23 3/4 inches. The tubing itself is about 7/8 inches, and the flat piece that goes into the bed is 1/2 inch thick for the fat part, 3/8 inch for the thin. Here is something unusual about our setting: we have removed the bed frame because it made the bed too high to get in. So our box frame sits flat on the floor. I put the flat extension directly on the floor under the box frame. It worked well there. It probably would have worked between the frame and the mattress, but that would have put the top handle higher than would have been comfortable for me. Tip: leave it out from the edge of the bed a couple inches so you can drop the covers between the bed and this bed assist. Also, allow yourself room to swing out your legs--I moved mine toward the foot of the bed. It was reasonably easy to assemble. It seems sturdy, and gives me the support I desire. The handle can go on either side so you can use it on either side of the bed. Now the strap: Where does that go? I could not figure it out and did not see anything about what to do with it. I didn't really need it for my installation. The light is quite motion sensitive so it works well. It was designed to be used as a cabinet light, so it is flat and its magnet barely holds it to the round frame. It holds well enough if I don't bump into it very hard. The instruction sheet for the light is printed in such a small font that I need a magnifying glass to read it. I am pleased with it: it does what I need it to do.

I chose to review the, "Bed Rails for Elderly Adults Safety, Adjustable Bed Rail with LED Motion Sensor Light, Bed Handle Bedside Assist for Grab Bar with Storage Pouch, Bed Side Rails Fits Twin Full Queen King Grey." I was happy to have the opportunity to review this bed rail as I had surgery and needed one of these! Not crazy about the motion sensor light, but that's a personal preference. The rail isn't quite as sturdy as I need, but I'm kind of picky. I don't know how long it will hold up, but it has a lot of nice features. Not difficult to assemble! I'm not sure it's got the value for the money. If you can get a medical supply commercial bed rail that is designed to do this job, I'd recommend you getting one of those to be sure of something sturdy to keep your loved ones or yourself from potentially hurting themselves or yourself! I'm not comfortable recommending it... THANK YOU AMAZON VINE PROGRAM!!!
