It seems to work, resolved my issues with excessive cooling during the summer. Does not keep the engine warm during the winter. In all fairness, it is a very small displacement 2.0 and perhaps the orientation of the temperature sensor contributes to the low temp reading, perhaps. That being said the car still runs cold over the cooler winter days, it is my suspicion this is the result of the thermostat not sealing completely or opening prematurely.     • Works, perfect fit, and comes with a gasket
Replaced the thermostat on my Jetta because the temperature gauge on the dash was showing cold at all times. Turns out that the temp sensor wires has frayed and just needed to be re-soldered. Oh, well. This thermostat has nonetheless worked perfectly and gives me one less thing to worry about. Temperature is as described, perfect fit and comes with a competent gasket. I'll update if it fails but I expect it to be fine. ... show more

It fit perfectly in my 05 beetle 2.0 L. I was getting a flashing blue light so I replaced the thermostat and the sensor - it seem to solve my problem.
