I purchased this in January and am completely disappointed. (was replacing identical blanket just older). My side heats well with no problems. The other side barely heats and started shorting out last night & had a “wire type” smell. It only stays on for about few minutes. (and no, it’s not on preheat or sleep). Since this was an identical blanket replacement, I grabbed one of the older controllers to see if the problem was the controller or blanket.     • Great toasty warm blanket....But for some small exceptions

Been using this blanket for a week or so. Yes this blanket keeps you toasty at relative lower settings (for me 2-3) and will preheat nicely, but gets VERY warm quickly on preheat. There do not seem to be hot spots and the warmth is welcome as it is snowy here now. Things to note, the control is NOT as pictured and is hard to see at night as it lays flat on my bedside table and the buttons are not illuminated. There are 20 heat settings though I cannot imagine using the upper heat settings which should be labeled bake and broil. The blanket is soft and lightweight and you can easily feel the wires within. Please note that this and any other electric blanket I've owned has a failing. Assuming you order the size your mattress is, the heat wires only extend to a bit less than the edge of your mattress. When you the get in and the blanket is lifted to cover you, the edges and several inches more near the edge will not be heated. As I have a queen bed, I order a king. I do NOT tuck in any area with wires and they do not reach the floor, but now the bed shared with hubby has warmth to the very edge and some beyond. Additionally, for some reason the electric blanket industry fully supports the maintenance of cold shoulders. Again, like other brands I've owned, the warming wires only go to within about a foot of the top end of the blanket. As I am short, for me I can merely snuggle down further. For my taller husband, I put on a top fleece blanket that will help keep his shoulders from getting cold. This specific electric blanket has one other feature that discourages intimate marital relations in mid-winter. You see each side is plugged in separately and the wires for each side are not connecting, this is good....BUT. .. there is a 6-8" gap in the heated area going down the centerline of the bed. It is just big enough that you definitely know if you are crossing the midline of your bed to snuggle with your significant other. The only good thing about that is the cat is also aware of this cold stripe in the middle of the bed, so at least the cat is not in the way. ... show more

I have used electric blankets my entire life. Can't sleep without one. I usually need to replace them after a year or 2 and even while in use, I need to have it on high and am often still cold. This blanket is THE BEST of the best. The settings go from 1-20. First use, I put it on 20 and had to turn it down. That has never happened to me. I now set it on 7 or 11 and am plenty warm. No hot or cold spots either. Completely uniform warmth and the perfect temperature. I will always be a customer of this blanket. Ours will be 4 years old April 2025. I just purchased a replacement in King size while I could still get them and purchased a king sized one for our son. I also purchased 2 in twin size to use as a lap blanket for myself and a gift for our son. My husband loves the one on our bed, too, and usually keeps his on 1 or 3 and is toasty warm at that setting. This is the best item on Amazon. ... show more

The blanket has done very well so far. It has been just a week, but I expect continued good service. The blanket is 87x82 inches. The heated area is 72x60 inches. There is an unheated margin around the heated area: about 11 inches wide on left and right, 6 inches at the head, and 9 inches at the foot. This is good for us. We wanted a margin at the foot so that we could tuck that under the mattress. The old blanket did not have any margin, and we were dissatisfied by that. We sought a blanket with a margin at the foot, and I asked AI Copilot to suggest such blankets. It listed this blanket, among 2 or 3 others, but Amazon descriptions did not describe these margins. Surprise, we got what we wanted. Pet owners take note of this quote: "If this blanket is returned with pet hair on it, the Warranty is Automatically Voided." And: "This item must be washed before returning ..." Washing makes sense. We have no pets now, but I thought you ought to know about the pet hair issue, just in case you don't read the owners' manual. Read the Product Registration Card, and keep it for possible warranty needs, along with purchase emails from Amazon. Very importantly, so far our blanket is doing well!! ... show more
