  • great sound + pairing ez-as-pie
I got these headphones at an "open box" discount price. I have heard people say these headphones are bass heavy. IMHO this is wrong -- these headphone are bass-accurate where as most headphones are bass-deficient. The sound is excellent -- at every frequency. The ability to point out the location of specific instruments is uncanny. When I switched out my old gym headphone for the Beats phones I could not believe my ears - what I had been missing all these year!!! The over-ear design keeps out noise, and if it is really LOUD in your environment you can turn on the active silencing which is pretty gosh darned good at blocking external sounds. Mostly I run with the silencing function "off" as it saves doubles battery life between charges. The audio quality is excessively fantastic. My only complaint is that the over-ear design is so effective that my ears get hot when working out. Based on the sonic experience, I can live with hot ears in exchange for the terribly wonderful sound quality. On a 1-10 scale, I would rate Klipsch bookshelf speakers with subwoofer as 9.5 and the Beats headphones as 8.5. I am a happy camper. Lastly,I would like to point out that these phones pair with all of my Apple devices with 25th century ease: 1.) Turn on your Apple device, 2.) Tell it to play audio, 3.) Turn on the Beats headphones, 4.) Wait 2-5 seconds and the music starts playing. In many years of dealing with Bluetooth devices, I have never seen any device pair as easily as these headphones. Kudos to Apple for making all their stuff compatible with each other and EZ to use... ... show more

  • Great for plane and train trips.
These are very good headphones. I find their noise cancellation very effective. And the sound quality is robust. I got them to help ease long plane flights, and was quite happy with the decision. Really good to have on if you should find yourself at Manchester Oxford Road Station at rush hour. Note that for air travel, you'll want to bring their plug-in audio cable with you, if you're going to listen to the in-flight entertainment system. The cons: they do start feeling a little tight on my head after a while (I have a large hat size), and this makes it a little harder to just turn the music on and fall asleep. And if you're wearing glasses with them on, I would advice having ones with plastic frames (metal ones cut into the cover of the earpieces a bit. Still, the quality/value matrix is quite good for these. ... show more

  • excellent headphone, not sure about the noise cancellation during high noise environments
I like my headphones, they look cool, and sound quality is good. the buttons are a little difficult and cringy to press most of the times, as they feel hard and you have to press form the very middle of the circle button, if you press it a little to the edge, it won't send the signal, even if you hear the click of pressing it. I was on a plane and I had the noise canceling ON, and the bass started to work very weird, I think it tries to adjust the volume depending on the environment and the bass started to go high and low. I was worried that the headphones were not working properly or that might something bad from manufacturer, and I had to turn them off and on. and the bass elevation would go off. I don't know, it's hard to explain, it sounded very very loud and the bass started to sound very blurry and my ears were all deaf, is just happened on one ear though. I'm not sure if this is normal during planes because of the high noise of the plane, but I've experienced this happening quite a few times, so I just turn off the NC while I travel and it works normal. I don't know if I should contact the manufacturer. Other than that I like them, but I'm just a little worried that my headphones might have something bad. ... show more

  • No noise cancelling, great otherwise.
No noise cancelling for the microphone, the noise for people you are talking too is spectacularly bad. The mic is only usable if you have no other choice. The bass is kind of mild actually, but it's good. The sound of these speakers are good, most people will like it unless they don't like the name beats. Not audiophile, but does nothing bad and does everything well and reveals good detail. These things play loud, really loud, damned loud. The noise cancelling works okay, but when combined with how well these things play loud you can mistake the noise cancelling being better than it is, when the volumes is simply that high. What is nice is unless you have it low the noise cancelling doesn't affect the sound. With no music there is some white noise, but drops the background noise by about 6-10db. Everything about them feels nice and premium, the apple W1 chips works great in these things, battery life is great, charging is quick. They could be a little more comfortable but I can move them around to be comfortable, they are not quiet large enough to go complete around the ears. ... show more

  • Not the best to workout in
Great pair, serve their justice. Personally a comfortable fit and I like the sound quality. However, if you want a pair to workout in I don’t recommend unless maybe you have curly hair that you plan on wearing in a bun. I bought them because my friend recommended them to me but unlike her I have straight hair and they tend to move around quit a bit and don’t stay in place perfectly. Nothing more annoying than trying to get in some situps, deadlifts, or burpees and having the ear pieces tilt away from your ear. Also, if you have it set to the highest volume, you might cancel out other peoples noise but they SURE can hear your music...so keep that in mind. I mean they have their pros and cons but overall I’m glad with the purchase, just not perfect for the gym if you like to move around a lot without your music leaving your ear. If you just want a pair to lift or do some steady cardio on a machine, you’ll love them though! ... show more
