See this picture and how it is mounted upside down. Upright was not working because it would hit the top of the eves. Perfectly, can be mounted at any angle. Distance sensor is about 8-10 feet. I wish it was more like 15’ but turns on just at the right distance. I love how it only stays on for 17 seconds if there is no movement, which saves battery. Make sure you have all the pieces in place before installing because I had to take it off when I forgot to place the hold bolt. Drilling the place of where the three mounting screws will go with a smaller drill bit (I used a measuring tablet to size the screws and bit. I lost one screw (fell and couldn’t find it with my magnet) and have many replacements in a box so finding one as not a problem. This was placed in a window that is low and a security risk for entry. Bright and like I said it stays on just the right amount of time if no movement is detected. It also won’t turn on when it’s daylight. Great purchase!

I needed a battery-operated light to occasionally illuminate the area under our deck. I've used Mr. Beams motion detector lights for indoor applications and have been satisfied with operation, battery life and quality of illumination, so I decided to try this one for my application. Fully satisfied with the unit. Very well designed for installation and positioning, lighting is sufficiently bright for the area, motion detection works very well, and cost is also reasonable. So far no issues with weather resistance, and the design appears to be good for outdoor use.

Fairly easy to install and I’ve confirmed that it detects motion and lights up brightly. Readable price too. On the flip side, the original screws are cheap and easily stripped. Also, there was no mention of 3 “D” size batteries in the description at the time of purchase.

I bought this for my closet. Yes, a motion detector flood light for my closet. Super bright. I bought the 2 pack thinking I was going to need both to make it bright enough to see on both sides (my closet is long and the sliding doors only cover a little less than half and the rest is just dark, dark, dark). I placed one in the middle on the wall just about the sliding doors and it lights everything including floor and shelves above clothes hanging. I ended up using the second inside my pantry. And, these are super easy to install because you take the light portion off that holds the 3 size D batteries and the part that would make it heavy to hold and screw in at the same time. I made a template so I could easily drill the three holes to insert the included molly bolt which is made of plastic. Once you have the base mounted then you just screw back on the light portion that holds the 3 D batteries. The two pieces that you use to screw this on also is used to set the direction you want the light to shine. Love these and would highly recommend.

This is my 3rd Mr. Beams battery operated flood light. The first two each lasted and performed well for years until the sun and heat in Phoenix shattered the covers on the movement cells. (they were never dropped) The new design seems to have a heavier plastic cover but it has cut down on the distance it works. That being said due to the affordable price and the usefulness it is not a deterrent from replacing them. The heat in Phoenix summers is brutal. I have this placed in a dog run on the side of my home. It is shady most of the day so a solar light was not an option as I did not want it mounted higher and shine into my neighbors yard. I also did not wish to attach it to the siding or brick wall so I used a 1" PVC pipe filled with gravel installed into the ground to hold it. It fits perfectly. I originally painted the pipe black as the first two lights were black. I will be repainting it white now. It works perfectly for the purpose it is intended for and lights the entire length of the long run. Highly recommend this light. The batteries last for about a year.

This was working BEAUTIFULLY and still would if the damn adjustable screw didn't strip!!! The plastic wingnut to turn to adjust kept falling off and eventually when I went to snap it back on the screw sheared completely! Now I have to buy a new one because I can't get the damn half a screw out of the mounting plate so I can't even put the damn light back up even though it otherwise works! If the screw wasn't such a cheap piece of garbage, this would be an EASY 5 stars because it was amazing until then 😭
