After booting up for the first time I had to get under my desk and make sure the fans were actually spinning because my rig seemed way too quiet! I almost RMA'd a perfectly good motherboard due to two faulty power supplies. Had intermittent system shut downs oftentimes while the system was idling. This was with a Corsair AX860I which would trip and shut the system down. Swapped out CPU and then GPU. Still had the same issue. Then swapped PSU out for Corsair AX1200I. Same problem. Thought I had a bad motherboard. Tried another motherboard. Same issue. Hard to believe I had two High end PSU's fail. Swapped in cheap 550W HEC PSU I had laying around. Problem solved. Ordered this PSU and system has been running fine with no problems so far. Runs quiet and I like that the fan doesn't stop completely just turns extremely slowly. My water pump is the noisiest component in the case now. Great PSU.. dumb quiet I installed it in my Montech Air X case. At idle I don't hear and coil wind what's so ever. On full load I hear my GPU fans more then anything. This bequiet PSU replaced my thermal take 750 smart fan which was getting loud under full load. As for the cables supplied that comes with this unit. I prefer ribbon style cables mainly for the look the 24 pin and 8Pin CPU plug. I cant really complain as for ease of cable management. The cables are nice and stiff so I recommend before installing the ones you need give them a little work out so you minimize any unwanted damage to the parts your gonna be installing them too. I recommend this PSU for anyone attempting a quiet PC build. ... show more

Thought an open box was a good deal for a gold rated unit, as i needed something with more output as ocing a 3700x and a 2080S were pushing the limit (550-590w when gaming at 4k) of my gold rated evga 650w (600w output with 90% efficiency), and i knew bequiet from working in shops and are usually decent quality psu. Had this already ordered when a Seasonic Focus (750w) became available, but because of minor issues with some units made prior to 2019, i wanted to get a few reviews to see if that was worse or better than the bequiet. To my surprise the bequiet is pretty good overall, but lacks some efficiency below 150w-75w, and had a fan profile a little too aggressive than needed to cool it. This would have been fine, as my idle load is 120w and when i game i run speakers/headphones so i wont hear the fan, but the couple of reviews that took it apart mentioned pretty low quality on the soldering, especially given brand/maker/rating. So unless tgis is below 100$, either look for the Thermaltake GF1 series or the Corsair RMx. Seasonic has some units from the Focus series being subpar, so either look up some reviews for the specific unit you want, or get one from the Prime lineup. ... show more
