The Bass Tubes enclosure's port and woofer are on the same plane and in close proximity for maximum corner-loading results. And, just like a megaphone amplifies a cheerleader's voice, the corner of your car amplifies the concentrated bass output of the Bass Tubes enclosure. The Bass Tubes enclosure's advantage is it fits any vehicle--the perfect fit for a perfect sound. The BT1024DVC This 400 watt monster is super-efficient thanks to the Bass Tubes Enclosure. No need to break the bank (or the car's electrical system) buying a 1000 watt amplifier. Recommended power for the BT1024DVC is any amplifier 100 watts and up. BT1024DVC Features Grill The grill is both decorative and protective, preventing the Subwoofer from accidental damage from other items, such as golf clubs, groceries or book bags that might be tossed into the cargo area where the Bazooka Woofers are typically mounted. Woofer Bazooka's highly efficent, customized woofers are specifically designed and reinforced for use in the Bazooka Bass Tubes enclosure, producing a pure piston action and generating the maximum bass output possible. Edge Roll All Bazooka Woofers used in Bass Tubes enclosures feature large, high excursion, lightweight foam edge rolls to maximize their efficiency and overall bass output. Tube Enclosure A tube is a natural pressure vessel, and Bass is about pressure. The patented Bass Tubes enclosure creates a natural, uniform, hydraulic transfer of the Bass energy produced by the woofer. Port The port opening between the Tube Enclosure and the Port Tube allows for efficient transfer of bass. Bass Tubes enclosures utilize "Bass Reflex" technology to take advantage of both the forward and backward of the woofer, wasting no bass energy. Port Tube The bass energy created by both the forward and backward motion of the woofer are time aligned so that 100% of the woofer's output is concentrated into one output point. Acoustic Damping Fiber The acoustic damping material helps lower the resonance of the enclosure and simulates an increased air space. Integrated Amplifier The integrated amplifiers are performance matched to the specific woofers used in Bass Tubes enclosures to ensure that every watt of power is efficiently turned into bass performance. Having the amplifier integrated into the enclosure simplifies installation and eliminates power loss. Corner Loading Bass Tubes enclosures are specifically designed to take advantage of the natural amplification characteristics that occur when a subwoofer is placed into the corner of a vehicle. The corner acts like a megaphone, substantially increasing bass performance. Easy Install As with all Bazooka Bass Tubes Enclosures, the BT1014 comes with straps to keep the sub securely mounted, while still making removal quick and easy if you need even more cargo room. Optional Chrome-Plated UMS Brackets make for a flashier look, as well as a more secure, permanent mounting when removal isn't a problem. • Not Plug And Play, But Excellent If You Have A Little Knowledge
Style: 10" 4 Ohm DVC
I chose this Bazooka sub months ago. I chose it because it came loaded with a 10-Inch Woofer (can't possibly do 6.5 nor 8" sub...the size is too close to my 6.5" door speakers...seems like a violation of sorts to get a subwoofer the same size as my woofers...maybe it's just me). Initially, I had it hooked up in parallel to the subwoofer output of my stock headunit. It sounded better than the stock subwoofer (an 8-inch woofer that wasn't too bad, but that suffered because of it's metal baffle in the rear deck). I actually drove around with it like that for a few months, which coincidentally allowed the Bazooka to break-in quite a bit. The bass was pretty good at that low wattage (couldn't have been getting more than thirty watts from the deck). Finally, I purchased an Alpine MRV-M500 Mono subwoofer amplifier - 500 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms which ultimately gives out 565W RMS (per the included insert). I went with Alpine because of its proven track record of clean, industry-standard wattage. I mean really: what would've been the point of skipping the amplified, tuned Bazooka tube only to buy a cheap amplifier? IN addition, something I wanted to consider is that the battery and alternator in my Honda Civic is very small, so going with a quality D-Class amplifier was essential (at least in my mind). It may have taken a few months to get the money, but I thought I would be happier for it...and I was... The initial install (done by a local installer), was cool...but I'm not a newbie at this. I finally tired of the one-note reproduction of the install, and rewired it myself...using the amplifier's high-level input as opposed to the intermediate hi-low converter that the installer put in. Immediately, the full range of the Bazooka showed through. This sub, in a word, rocks! Knowing that my amplifier puts out a great amount of wattage, I have everything turned down on it (save a 3db boost at 45Hz on the amp). I listen to rap, rock, trance (love trance)...and this sub reproduces everything with great fidelity. I see some other reviewers complaining about the boominess of the sub, but I just don't see it. It took a while to get it tuned to where I want it (LPF @ 60-70Hz; 3db Boost @ 45Hz; Gain @ Min), but I can now listen to whatever I want to listen to, and it comes through clean and full from the sub... In my opinion, unless you have connections in the electronic world, there is no other sub that you're going to get with the convenience and musicality of this sub. The fact that this sub only needs a little power to perform is a plus, in my book. Of course, when I was younger, I wanted the most powerful subs, even if I couldn't afford the right amps to push it...it didn't matter. Now, with a little more age on me, I see it the exact opposite lol Now, I'll put out more for my amps and if I have to wait for the sub...so be it. Something else that should be considered with this sub, is the very small size of it. I have almost all of my trunk space still, and may end up purchasing a net so that none of my random items in the trunk slide under the Bazooka grill and damage the woofer. I've been thinking of attempting a driver swap on the Bazooka, but haven't done enough research to warrant any suggestions. Regardless, the sub is fine the way it is. It's not going to go very low (seems to begin rolling off around 43Hz), but most music does not go very low. If you want to go extremely low, you should not be looking at $100 Subwoofers w/ enclosures. $100 is the least you'll want to spend for a driver--alone. Either way, if you're on the fence, in want of a subwoofer that'll add a good amount of punch to your music, representing bass guitar notes rather well...this is the sub for you. Again, it's not plug-and-play, but that's a good thing. You can shape your music however you want...just don't buy a cheap amp. In my experience, you can normally push a driver to twice its rated power as long as you keep the wattage clean... Thus, your amp is going to be more important. Alpine is a great suggestion, but there are others...do your research. ... show more

  • Great sound in a compact package
Style: 8" 4 Ohm DVC
I had built a sub box with a 10 inch infinity kappa sub but was not happy with sound. Decided to give this bazooka tube a try and I'm glad I did. Sounds much better, louder and takes up much less space on the trunk of a bmw E46 convertible. Installation was a breeze as I already had an amp in the trunk. Can't comment on durability yet as I only had it a few months. Also needs to be broken in for better sound. ... show more

  • * poor quality control ***- update- sounds great in my single cab truck
Style: 8" 4 Ohm SVC
few years later. love the sub in a standard cab truck. unfortunately sub needs a 1/2 watt to come alive. At 1 watt you really do hear and feel it.... For what it is; a compact 8 inch subwoofer, it sounds good at low and moderate (living room and rather loud in vehicle) volume. At high volume the cabinet vibrations begin to color the sound in an unpleasant way. My test conditions were very high powered Professional amplifiers and Professional DSP speaker management (crossover, eq, time alignment) Pro Audio DA converter in a live living room with good diffusion and bass traps. The coloration from cabinet should be hard to notice in a vehicle as plastic and steel are vibrating as much or more than the cabinet/tube. Quality control is very poor, my cabinet had paint/finish inperfections, poor gasket installs and an odd imperfection in the roundness (flat spot). But this will sit behind my seat in a work truck and would get trashed quickly anyways from squares, hard hats and coffee cups tossed behind the seat.I plan to paint it with speaker cabinet paint that is very hard and thick to dampen vibration for $**ts and Giggles; besides I have several gallons of the stuff. ..Now this won't replace my custom Pro Audio 15" subwoofer in my living room but in certainly going into my small truck.****** don't believe the hype/marketing of sealed subwoofers. They are very high in distortion, non linearity, low efficiency, low power handling and non existent in recording studios, movie theaters, nightclubs and live music venues- music and movies are mixed on Reflex/Vented systems for Reflex systems.... ... show more

  • Fills the void of missing bass
Style: 6" 4 Ohm DVC
I debated between the active bazooka tube or passive. I went with the passive DV coil 6” for the versatile driver. I picked up a Kicker CX400 and the bass controller to pair with this in my company F150. Hits nicely and fits under the rear passenger seat whether I have the bottom up or down. The tube was simple to install. The amp wasn’t too hateful to install but the Kicker line out I purchased didn’t perform the key remote switch like it should. Anyway if your looking to fill the void and not wake the neighbors this is an excellent choice in my opinion. ... show more

  • Couldn't Have Just One!!
Style: 12" 4 Ohm DVC
I have two of these bad boys in my 02 Suburban powered by two Pioneer GM5400t amps one bridged for each tube. My head unit is a Pioneer AVH P4400bh with Pioneer GM D9500f 4-channel amp for the Polk Audio db641 door speakers. Let me tell you this combination produces awesome results with the Bazooka 12's being the standouts. These things have phenomenal bass reproduction. Anyone who has never experienced bass tubes are absolutely amazed at the amount of and cleaness of the bass in my truck from such a reasonable space requirement. Anyone who has had a bad experience with these either got a defective product (one of the ones I ordered came with shipping damage) or is not using it properly. As for the quality of the subwoofer, the proof-is in-the pudding; Bazooka's 12" passive tubes are absolute winners!!! I am also very pleased with all of the Pioneer products I have purchased. So, if you want a truly badass system in your Suburban/Tahoe at a great value - $1452.80 total including cables, backup camera, and parking brake overide - then the setup I just described should more than satisfy. Did I say I Love My Tubes!!!! ... show more
