I DJ weddings and gatherings for friends and family. Lights, music, sound, atmosphere, the whole nine yards. I've been doing this for over 40 years and went from vinyl to cassette, to CD, to digital. In this time I also went from 120 pound speakers, to JBL double 15" woofer towers, to now the Mackie Bluetooth 5" 1600-watt loudspeaker. I love a good sound, not just loud and annoying, but true sound and this speaker set produces some of the best sound you will find for this kind of setup. The SRT Connect app that you use with this set allows you to apply equalizer settings and control the speakers remotely. They also sync automatically with each other so you do not have to hardwire between speakers as in older speaker models. You still have the option of a hardline connection with your mixer or soundboard, but not necessary if you simply want to connect. Don't hesitate to buy these speakers. ... show more

I purchased 2 of these not because I am a musician or DJ, I bought them because I like loud music. These are perfect for me! They are loud as can be and they stay clear even at loud settings (well, for the most part. Some songs just are not meant to be played loudly I think.) I usually use these with Bluetooth and my phone, but I also bought a product that allows me to play them thru my receiver so I can watch a bluray concert and almost feel like I'm there since I can crank the music so loud! It is awesome! I have a brother who owned a dj business for weddings and parties or whatever, and he has said these Mackies are better than the speakers he used to use.
