  • This is hands down the best headstrap for the Quest 3, and I've tried at least 5 others!
This is the greatest Quest 3 headstrap I've tried yet. Including the Elite Battery official one! Why? There are three killer features here: 1) ON/OFF SWITCH. A lot of these battery straps make you unplug and plug in manually. I like that this allows you to turn it on when you need it and off when you don't. Batteries are best left not charging 24/7, so I like turning this off as my headset approaches 80% charge, and turning it on again when it gets below 40%. Fiddling with plugs is annoying, having a switch is KEY! 2) FOLDS IN HALF. You can have this use a low profile (show in pic) which is great for battery stands or storing on a shelf. The hinges are strong enough to hold it in place (something others like this don't have) but still able to move when you want them too. 3) BUTTON ADJUST RELEASE. Instead of twisting a gear to adjust, you can press the button in and get it where you want with a push, then release and use the gear to fine tune it to your head. I've never seen an adjustment mechanism like this on a Quest headstrap before, and I've owned a lot of them! 4) DIGITAL BATTERY LIFE DISPLAY. You can see, in numbers, how much battery is left in here without turning it on or guessing with a set of lights like other battery straps. 5) CAN CHARGE ITSELF AND QUEST AT THE SAME TIME - basically you can plug it in and charge up both the headstrap and the Quest itself at the same time. So many straps make you do one or the other because they use the same cable, whereas this has its own input jack. Makes management so much better. Honestly, this is exactly what I wanted for my Quest 3. I have a similar one for my Quest 2 and wasn't able to find one exactly like this yet. This is the first one to not have any of the cons listed above! ... show more

  • Very comfortable and relatively lightweight
As someone who has had spinal fusion in my neck and still suffers from chronic pain/migraines, VR head straps and accessories can make a HUGE difference- they can make the difference as to whether I can play at all or not. Combined weight is particularly important because the heavier the whole set-up is, the more likely it is to very quickly trigger a severe migraine. So I am always on the lookout for lighter but still quality accessories for those times when I can play. My husband and I have tried several after-market head-straps and this Transnovo strap is very comfortable and actually more than 100 grams lighter than others I have tried. There is a built-in rechargeable battery in the back of the strap and it has plenty of cushion on the top and a thick cushion that snaps onto the back- it was all pretty easy to put together and onto my Quest 3. Unlike other straps I've used, this one snaps onto the sides of the Quest instead of sliding on- which made me worry about how well it would stay together during play. Surprisingly, once snapped on the whole thing was very stable during active play- the only issue I had was that the side with the USB C port was a little tricky to get into place. The adjustable range on it is pretty impressive; I have a smallish head while my husband is 6'6" tall and has a pretty substantial noggin- this head strap can be easily adjusted with just a twist to comfortably fit us both. Even on a good day I can't play for more than an hour or two at most anymore- so for me personally, not being able to hot-swap batteries to extend play for a marathon session isn't a big deal compared to the advantage of less weight and a more balanced feel. Overall it is a nice quality comfortable rechargeable battery strap that lasts more than long enough for my needs. ... show more

  • Not made for women, maybe?
This head strap did not work for me and I'm not sure why not. My guess is that it's designed for men, not women. I'm going to have a male friend try it out and will update if it suits him better. I used it on my 3s. There's a lot to like about this strap: the digital readout on the battery, the ability to flip up the visor, the big battery, the quick release button to loosen it. It's NOT a "few seconds" to install. Fresh from the box, you have to put pieces together before attaching it to your visor, after removing your old head strap from the visor. It's not hard but I did have to look closely at the pics to figure it out. If you're over 40, you'll need your reading glasses to read the tiny text, btw. It snaps on to the visor arms, rather than sliding on, which is nice. It doesn't feel evenly weighted to me. The front feels heavier than the battery pack. I put it on, adjusted and tightened it, and discovered it was tight to my face and eliminated light leakage from the nose piece. Cool, right? Except it was too tight to my face. After a few minutes of gameplay, it started giving me a headache. I kept trying and ultimately played with it 3 times, about 2 hours each time. I tried every adjustment - adjusting the length of the strap (on both ends), placement of the rear cradle, dialing it tighter/looser, placement of the visor - and just couldn't find a comfortable fit. I'm no newbie to VR headsets or head straps, I've been playing for years, and never had as many problems with a strap as I did this one. I'm very skeptical of the play time claim. 5-7 hours? I didn't get that kind of performance. I was down to 36% battery after two hours of playing, from a 100% starting charge. Even with the headset battery, that only adds up to maybe 4.5 hours, and I wasn't playing a fps or anything. The next time I played, it drained to 45% after 90 minutes of Puzzling Places! Yes, it's better than any other batteries I've had but it's not 5-7 hours. During my last play session, I discovered it hadn't charged even though it was securely plugged in. I'm bummed this didn't work out. It's good quality and I liked how secure it felt. I don't know if the problem is my smaller female head, my long hair, or maybe I have a weirdly shaped head and don't know it lol. ... show more
