I was really surprised by this jacket; I survived a solid week of heavy rain last summer in Alaska and many days after that and still bone dry. one of my buddy's had a Columbia rain jacket the other had a KUIU and I stayed every bit as dry. This jacket is also thicker than your average rain jacket and well made with a material resembling breathable wader material, I will probably buy another in a larger size too. beware they run a little bit small, they have more of an athletic fit that I like so I don't have a lot of loose material around the waist. I have had LOTS of “rain gear” that never keeps you warm and dry. After seeing bassdash products and reading lots of great reviews I decided to give it a try. Living in the PNW when they call for rain, bet on getting drenched! This rain jacket kept me dry and having a light layer underneath kept me warm and DRY! After spending an hour in 3/4” of rain in an hour I was still dry and warm for the first time in forever! This jacket is very warm, completely windproof, waterproof and very soft. The pockets are well positioned and roomy. I wore it kayak fishing in 45 degree temps with high winds for 4 hours and it was great. It can get pretty warm with exertion such as walking up long steep grades, it doesn't breath so you will be moist inside after heavy exertion. One thing I dont like about it is the fit at the wrists, it is so tight that you can't push them up at all (I am a woman with very slim wrists) if you need to put your arm in water to retrieve gear or fish, or for a little ventilation. Also the tops of the arms are really bulky which is sort of a pain wearing a pack or when casting. ... show more

I'm 5'10", 180 lbs and normally wear medium, which is fitted nicely. I ordered a medium for this jacket and actually it's closer to a large than a true medium. It actually worked out that this one runs a bit bigger since I need room to wear more clothing underneath when I go hunting and fishing in the winter. I'm not sure why everyone says it runs smaller when mine runs bigger. Maybe just the medium size runs bigger? I don't know. Aside from that, this is a real nice jacket. The material is 100% waterproof. Where I live, it rains all winter so now I get to do all my outdoors activities with this nice jacket on. It does run a bit long so I probably wouldn't wear it with waders. I have a shorter waterproof jacket I can wear. This one though, I can wear it on everything else. So far really pleased - haven’t been in a downpour yet but jacket is lightweight and has lots of pockets for storage ! Will have to have under layer to be really warm but is easy to pack and store ! Ordered a size larger to be able to under layer !
