It works well even when there is some wind. We use it as a backyard stove and it’s great but if you plan to use it for camping it is big and does not ship with a carry bag so you would need to careful how you pack it considering the top is glass. It also does not really simmer, even on low it kicks out some serious heat. For a backyard stove, it’s great and would also be good for tailgating, not so sure about camping. Definitely takes some getting used to as this burns way hotter than other propane ranges i’ve used but well worth it. Great build and seems like it may last me quite some time

Even with the lowest setting it's still pretty hot. It's a little hard to control the heat while cooking.

    • I wish it lasted
I really liked this stove. I may buy another. It worked fine until one day I noticed the plastic around the knob was melting- the thing had caught on fire. It may have been my fault as it had rained and there was a puddle of water under it when I fired it up. Would that cause it? After turning off the gas there was still flame coming out of the knob, so I dumped water on it. Did you know the cook top is glass? And gets hot? Well, it exploded into a million pieces. The only issue I have is the burner only lasted for about 9 months… it’s no longer producing the heat suitable for cooking.

I used this to replace the cooktop on the outside of my camper. It worked as described. It does cook HOT, no low and slow option here. I'd recommend cast iron for this stove. You can adjust the burner underneath....unless you secured it to table top like I did.
