I was looking for inexpensive grow lights for my tomatoes seedlings. They tend to get spindly in the house because I don't have enough windows and it's cold outside. Based on user recommendations, I took a chance on these. LEDs use a lot less energy than fluorescent bulbs. It was easy to assemble and test my first light. I guess I didn't read the description very well. These are bright magenta! Did I say bright? And shocking pink? Probably not a good idea to look at them directly. They come with a variety of ways to suspend them, but I decided to test them quick and dirty. I found two spare pieces of shelving and placed them over the bathtub (we are empty nesters and we have one that is not used). Then I put my seedlings (9 trays of jiffy pots) in the tub and rested the LED fixture on top of the shelves. Plugged the light in and shazam! Took five minutes, tops. Within the first day, the seedlings straightened up as an indication of their happiness. It's been less than a week, and the tomatoes still don't have true leaves, but I am happy and so are the seedlings. I live in central Wisconsin and we bring in many of our plants every year before it freezes. Some of the plants are annuals and we just bring them in to see if they make it or not. Most years a handful make it until spring and the rest don't. Well so far this year, all plants are thriving. In fact I had to trim back the geraniums and remove the dead blossoms. Yes, since they have been inside they have been blossoming regularly. The lights work great. Plants have never been healthier. And I will save a ton of money come spring because I won't have to buy so many new plants to replace the ones that don't make it inside during the winter. ... show more

I like the brightness of the bulbs and the adjustable cable that comes with it. I grow vegetables from seed and tomato plants are ready to plant in half the time .the ones in pic are 5 days from planting seed
