Unless you’re like JACKEDDDD it will fit fine. Stays securely on the bar. Really inconspicuous at the gym, smaller than I expected in a good way. Really efficient tool to disperse weight. Not a cushion, more like a hard rubber that hooks onto your traps perfectly. I can finally concentrate on the actual squat.

It grips an olympic bar perfectly so I dont know why people are saying it falls off the bar and if thats the case obviously return and replace it because its a dud. It is super stable as I can balance a hundred to a few hundred pounds on my shoulders without using my hands (this is how i gauge the pad is perfectly in the center). The only thing that sets this apart from the manta ray is that it is SLIGHTLY less comfortable but dont mistake that remark for it being uncomfortable because thats just not true! I am actually writing this review a year after I purchased it because I forgot and I want to make sure people know that this product has held its integrity this whole time and I have countless hours of squats with it! Hope you guys save yourself some doe and go with this instead of the manta ray cause at $50 its not worth thr little extra comfort.

What is this it’s too small I used it at the gym today this fits perfect like a glove on my shoulders I didn’t even touch the bar I was lifting it with my body weight made me wanna do more squats this thing is amazing and holds the bar good

If you’re like me and have used the stingray and thought it was awesome but kind of expensive you probably looked at this. I’ll start responctionality. It grips the bar just fine and cups your shoulders just like the stingray. So if you’re worried that it is not going to hold onto the bar just know that it works the same. The material is much stiffer and less ergonomically than the name brand. Mistakes in a bit which can get pretty painful but honestly it was worth it to save the money. Using this primarily for squats you’re not doing that for more than an hour at most with breaks in between. It’s still better than that bar crushing your vertebrae while you’re squatting. If you’re looking for something more comfortable spend the extra money if you’re on a budget and willing to put up with some discomfort for the same results check this out

The pad is way to small for a standard barbell. Even using and lighter barbell, the pad does not sit correctly for traditional squats. I thought I was receiving the pad pictured but it was a cheaper version.

I totally love these squat bar shoulder pads. Traditionally, you're taught that for a proper squat with core engagement you should hold the bar as low down on shoulders/scapulas as comfortably possible while keeping your back completely straight at the bottom, but with this pad it locks the bar in place and you can rest it even higher on your shoulders while giving you more grip stability so you focus more on keeping your back and core engaged through the full motion. I don't use this every time I squat but it's certainly a great small piece of equipment to add to the mix every once in a while. I've only had mine for about a week now, it's fairly stiff but still gives enough cushion that it's not painful, idk if there's a break in period for it to soften up but I'm not complaining. It's as thick as it needs to be. Sometimes with a traditional squat bar sleeve, it's so thick that it brings on some shoulder impingement because you have stretch the shoulder muscles a little more to grip the bar on your back. This pretty thin and doesn't cause any issues regarding range of motion in your shoulders while still being thick enough to avoid inducing any pain

So I found multiple issues with this product… ESP with a Smith Machine. When using a regular squat bar I think it would work ok (though I found the bar thickness to be almost too thick for the groove of the piece and it would pop off the bar easily bc of that) Bc of the tight bar fit, it did not work well at all with a Smith Machine bar. It doesn’t rotate well with the bar when you rotate it back to take it off the stops and so you’re constantly either in the wrong position or it seems to be. Because I was constantly working to keep it in the right spot the bar clamps kept hitting against the stops on the way up and down… I finally gave up and used the pad that you wrap around the bar instead. I will say that when I was standing still it rested well on my shoulders and seemed to relieve some of the load from the neck area but the other issues kept it from working on a Smith squat., I may try it again with a regular bar but was really just disappointed with it
