UPDATED 7-1-25 . I did not wait the 24 hrs. That the instructions say to do. It worked fine for the first week. But everyday after that it started getting worse. Every day it would not keep the temps even at 65 degrees at a week later . The 2 week timeframe I had to use frozen water bottles again. I called Amazon they immediately sent me a replacement unit. The exact same unit. This time I let it sit for 36 hrs. My husband wanted to let it set for 48hrs. We compromise at 36. It has been a month now and it works great. It definitely keeps my Jellybean happy (Axolotl) please wait the 24 hrs. As the instructions say to do. The heavy oil has to drain back into the unit properly. Please wait 24 hours or into like I did and wait 36 hours. It works perfect I give it 3° temp like it’ll say that it’s down to 61 and then when it gets to 64 but it’s actually 61 never gets higher than 60 to an actual temperature to make sure Recommend 24 hours or longer So far it has been working exactly as described. I didn’t wait quite 24 hrs. I waited 20 hrs. But it was easy to set. I was able to set it at 59 degrees and it hasn’t gotten higher than 62 degrees. I have an Axolotl that I have to keep the water between 60-66. So I have been using frozen water bottles alll dayyyy ! Always worrying about temps. No more . So I set it to 59 and when it get to 62 degrees it starts cooling down again. So I was able to give it a 3 degree difference, you can set it as high as 10 degrees difference if that’s your preference. So happy I had that option. It is very silent. It’s in my bedroom, right under my tank. I have actually forgotten about it being there it’s so quiet. Maybe it’s a sound close to a small fan. Plus it only stay on for just couple of minutes anyway. I just had to make a cut to fit the tubes in. Everything else was easy. It’s only been a few days. But will update, if anything changes. All of the accessories seem high-quality the pump seems very nice not cheap at all. Was worried about that part. But the pump seems very very good. All is well. I’m happy with this purchase. I do highly recommend. Trust me I think I’ve looked at every single review made about these chillers. Pretty sure I picked a really great one.. as far as worth the money if it continues working this swell, it was definitely worth the money. Bottom line - would recommend. My axolotl is certainly much happier and active. Ordered this for my axolotl tank so I could keep it at 63 degrees and not worry about fooling around with frozen water bottles. The unit is nice and compact and appears well built. The included accessories (pump, hose, clamps, connectors) also seem high quality. Setup was fairly straightforward, and since I have a canister filter, I just simply plumbed this the return hose, then added an extra disconnect on the hose for easy maintenance. As such, I cannot comment on the pump, as I did not need it on my setup. Programming the unit was also easy, as the included directions were easy to understand. The unit allows you to not only to set the desired temperature, but also set a temperature correction and the temperature range (how many degrees it allows the temp to rise before kicking on again). Couple things to note - the unit came with a default temp range of 10 degrees. For some applications this may be OK...but most aquatic animals do not do well with constantly being subjected to a 10 degree temperature swing. So I was glad to see I could set this to a 1 degree range, allowing my tank to stay at 63-64 degrees. Yes, this does make the unit run more often, but provides a much more stable environment. Second thing to note is that this kicks out a lot of heat (for me it was one of those 'well duh' moments). If you have this in an open area with good ventilation, this isn't really a concern. However, if you are like me and have a fully enclosed cabinet under your tank, it can become a big issue, easily reaching above the recommended max of 95 degrees. To solve this problem, I ended up cutting a hole in the back panel and adding a ventilation fan (with temp switch). Overall, I'm very happy I ordered this.

Beware. I ran this for a short while and it leaked. Sent it back for a refund. Now I realize that it deposited some sort of eggs into my tank. Nothing else was added to my tank other than RODI and food. Nothing new. I suddenly found eggs attached to the glass walls. Beware. Who knows what sort of invasive critters hibernated inside this unit (from China). If you purchase one, decon it first before attaching it to your aquarium. Wow! Only made in America for me moving forward.

Good, simple chiller. Well made. The internals look like they were built with care, the connections are clean and organized. However, the user interface is terrible. the buttons are NOT intuitive. The first one I bought, I accidentally sent back thinking it was defective. I couldn't figure out how to turn it on. Apparently, you have to long-press the front power button to 'wake' up the device. The manual does not mention the need to long-press the front power button. I have several other complaints, all about the user interface. There's a light shaped like a fish logo that stays lit all the time. It's really bright and gets kinda hot. Also, after a few minutes, the interface 'locks' itself and you can't change any settings until you powercycle the unit again. The way this unit is designed, the external pump runs constantly, and the chiller cycles as needed. This is because the temperature sensor is internal to the chiller. I hope in the next version, they make an external temperature sensor that can go directly in the tank, and then, have the chiller turn it's pump on and off along with the cooling to save energy. It would be REALLY cool if they could include the pump IN the chiller but that could make it hard to clean/service. I just hate having this huge pump taking up so much room in my tank. The chiller itself is great, quiet, and effective, but the buttons/screen drags down the unit's quality.

Great product! After 4 months the water tip broke and I contacted the manufacture and expressed my concern that it was running my reef tank and they were able to get me the replacements within 2 days. Excellent customer service.

Had trouble getting it started. Actually opened the enclosure and pulled the pin connector for the display and pushed it back together. This actually worked. I examined the rest of the electronics and it is actually constructed very well.

Hooked it up and turned it on. Worked perfect. Lowered temperature 3 degrees in 5 minutes with 32 gal biocube.

I really like this tank chiller. I really appreciate the the tilted touch panel because it isn't as awkward to adjust as my larger chiller. I love the large screen panel and it's super easy to see and adjust.
