This is a terrific assortment of supplies for baking sourdough bread. One of the banneton bowls purchased at a kitchen store local to me was $30 by itself, so you can tell by that alone the value is amazing. I used the oval bowl for my last proofing, and it turned out very well. It is nice that the kit included 2 bench scrapers, the plastic one is gentle on my plastic dough mat and the metal is both beautiful, and functional on the actual countertop. I have bought and kept bannetons from this brand. Overall, the brand is mine of choice. There is room for improvement however for shape, quality, and item description. I first bought the Bread Boss brand of baskets, the rattan was superior to this brand and size was accurate - but the liners were awful (loose threading, thin fabric, holes) and I need a liner so it was a no go. I wish this brand would show the measurements in a photo and add the size in the description as well as how much dough each basket is meant for use (knowing it needs room to rise). Even a chart listing the sizes and dough weights would be nice. This Round 9" IS accurate - other products of theirs are not. It is 9" across and 3.5 inches deep. The 10" Oval IS NOT 10" - it is smaller. Very disappointed as I wanted the 10in oval. Worried it will be too small but it has a nice fat oval shape. We will see if there is enough room to proof the dough. The 10" Round IS 10". This 10" round is 3.5" deep just like the 9" round they sell. This means your loaf will be bigger around, but not proportionally deeper - making a squaty loaf. That maybe what you are going for? I like mine to be tall loaves. I am returning this one. Hoping if I get the 11" round it will be deeper... but somehow I doubt it. We will see. ... show more
