I haven’t had thousands of miles to test mileage claims but right off the bat I am happy so far. Word of advice follow the directions closely, the only negative I’ve experienced is the sensor placement. Once in place you don’t have access to the MAF so you must plug it in before dropping it down in place. Sounds great though, love hearing the turbo spool. Install was strait forward and fairly easy. I really like the fact that I can actually hear my turbo and I did pick up an additional 1 MPG. The installation took about 30 minutes and wasn't too bad overall. The only real downside is when you want to clean/replace the filter element you pretty much need to completely Uninstall the the complete assembly just to get to the filter. ... show more

    • Serious design flaws
I normally admire the thoroughness of engineering that goes into Banks products, but this air intake is not quite at the same level. There are 3 design issues with it: 1) the air box is far from air tight. There is a half-inch gap between the front air door and the air box, on all sides! There is a reason why the OEM box has tight tolerances (1-2 millimeters, and only at the top of the front dam door). When the front air dam is closed, it's not supposed to let anything in. I assume it's to prevent water getting rammed staraight into the filter if you are driving on a highway in heavy rain. 2) you cannot easily take out and service the filter element without getting the whole air intake assembly out of your truck. On the OEM box you simply pop the lid open and take the filter out. Same on the S&B cold air intake system. 3) the manual says to install it as a single unit (pre-assemble first, and then fit the whole thing on to the turbo). This is tremendously hard to fit properly. After almost an hour of trying to make this work, I ended up installing the air duct on the turbo first, then installing the air box with the filter in it, and then finally joining the 2 parts already in the engine bay. Either the manual is worng, or they really want you to do it the hard way. ... show more

Definitely better throttle response haven’t really noticed fuel mileage but not have not been paying too much attention to that. also can definitely hear the turbo whistling more in the cab
