I miss the sounds of true stereo that I got back when records were played , attached to recievers, equalizers, and speakers rocked highs and lows. I wanted the sound in my house to sound the way a pair of Bose ear buds do. You hear everything. However Bose systems have to much bass and no equalizer. After 3 days of research I had come to 2 I thought would be what I wanted. Fluance if 70 or Bang&Olufsen beolit 20. I listened to them on You Tube with my Bose ear buds and both had the crisp clear highs I like, along with rich bass that could be controlled. I finally choose the Bang&Olufsen Beloit. It is both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, I can pair a second speaker to it and it is moveable. The Fluance weighed 80lbs and I am older that would just be to large and heavy, although the sound is amazing in comparisons. I like the Bang so much I bought a second speaker so I could really have more surround sound in the room they are in. I have an Rv and these are portable. They are pricey, the Fluance might have cost less money because one speaker would cover the room and me buying 2 Bang is double price but they are really worth it. I researched high end speakers, there are most likely even higher quality but out of my price range. So if you are looking for a speaker and are a Bose fan this beats Bose. If you are searching like I was reading all reviews all I can say is you will not regret having this speaker. There is set sounds or you can use the built in sort equalizer so you can adjust and set your sound to fit the music you are listening too. Some genres need deep bass others need highs where hear all the instruments in the background. This is money well spent for me. Bought two Beolit 20s to replace a vacuum tube based stereo system that was seeing less and less use in my living room. More of the music we listen to at this point is just streamed from our phones. If I feel the need to listen to non-compressed/HD audio files, that usually occurs in the small recording studio I've built with my studio monitoring setup. With that background out of the way, I'll leave my impression of the Beolit 20. Typical Bang & Olufson design, meaning minimalist/unique form with high quality materials and excellent construction. Description of sound quality is always subjective but overall, based on my experience with audio over the past 40 years or so, I'd rate the Beolit 20 to be excellent. As compared to other bluetooth speakers I've auditioned in the past year (Sonos, Bose, HK, Ultimate Ears and JBL) the Beolit is by far the most pleasing of the bunch. Decent low end extension with fairly detailed mid-range and very nice high end extension without sounding strident. I doubt most people will be using two of these as I am in a stereo paired setup, but for those who might be interested in that, it certainly is a sound that rivals some of the higher end component stereo setups I've had over the years. For those who might be concerned with the quality of bluetooth audio codecs, there is line input via 3.5mm TRS (stereo) on the unit. If one is interested in using this as a powered speaker there's always that option, although running a pair of these in stereo will require a custom made Y-cable specifically wired for each Beolit to truly run L/R audio. But I digress. Most who buy this will be using bluetooth As for the bad, I could say say price but...you're looking at B&O, that's just the way it is. The app is fairly straightforward, stereo pairing can take an extra 30 seconds or so. Just be aware that there is a specific sequence to do it in (at least that's what my experience is). EQ on the app is useful but typically I just leave it at factory settings since so much music nowadays is just all over the map in terms of audio quality and EQ. In closing, if you want a speaker with flashing lights and all kinds of voice assistants and wifi network abilities, this isn't the speaker for you. On the other hand, if you want something elegant with excellent audiophile sound and a top notch build quality, buy the Beolit 20. ... show more

Purchased the Beoplay ex a few years ago and wanted to jump into something different from them. Purchased it on a Black Friday sale for a decent price and wow. This small speaker has some of the best sound quality out there for its size. It’s beautiful in every aspect from the nice sleek design to the deep rich bass you feel when listening to tunes. I received my unit. Charged it, downloaded the app paired the unit. Impressive. the sound is very pleasurable a soft beautiful sound very typical of B&O products. One of the speakers had a slight hum from the beginning. I thought his could have to do with it being so cold out and its shipping journey. So, I returned it to my local UPS store as per Amazon instructions. UPS accepted the package and shipped it out for me. I did receive a tracking number and receipt and the product shows to be delivered and returned. I then receive a email notice from Amazon Buyer/Return division. From an Account Specialist. With this to say to me.... We cannot issue a refund for this order until we receive the correct item. Please return it to us if you want to receive the refund. I returned the email asking for an Account Specialist to call me. I was inform Via email Amazon is not set up to handle direct phone calls. 2020 (really) why Amazon has no problem wasting peoples's time like this the most valuable resource in the world is beyond my understanding. But it definitely benefits. Them and not US. Has this happened to anyone else. My question is. Has Amazon ever told you in a nice way by email they think you are confused and they are not willing to return your money after you send a product back? If so please enlighten me in the comment section on your particular issue. I'm a bit peeved @ the moment. This seems to be a wide spread issue with them. Honest review time! This speaker's got great sound and EQ, but connectivity issues and outdated Bluetooth are a bummer. 5-watt wireless charging is disappointing. If you're looking for a deal, it's worth a look, but be cautious with second-hand purchases. My 'like new' item was a mess - loose packaging and dirty. Not worth 5 stars, and I've got evidence for Amazon. For this price, I'd expect more, like LDAC or high-res audio. The design is beautiful and elegant, but the specs don't match. ... show more

You really HAVE TO GET THE APP to make this work well. The free app has an equalizer (which you set) optimized for your specific speaker. The sound is spectacular with Apple Music set at lossless download (Spotify is lower resolution and tinny btw) and the app set to optimal. You can select other sound modes in the app, as well as save your own sound set up to use later. Before you start your music, turn on the app and leave it on, so the music will process through the app. Without the app it’s very good, but not amazing. With the app it is spectacular. Also, straight out of the box it has NO charge so it plays VERY quietly. Once it is properly charged it will blow your doors off! All of this would be nice to have explained in some kind of instruction booklet but the instructions they supply are inadequate. ... show more

So being that it’s prime day, I decided to treat myself to an early birthday present & finally get one of these. I wanted one for a while, but wanted to wait for a sale. This speaker is better than I remember!!! The bass quality in this thing alone is nuts, absolutely rock solid. You can tell that you are getting a quality unit for the buck. It’s a little expensive, but trust me when you play music on this, you will NOT be disappointed. The grille is very nice, love the leather handle & it charges my phone on the top surface. One thing that I find cool about this (Of the many) is that it looks like a lunchbox & since I am an elementary school teacher, it will fit perfectly in the classroom. I also have noted that even when I turn the volume all the way to the max, the system doesn’t distort or anything. Granted, if you are spending this amount of $$$$ on a speaker, it better be good. I might get another one for stereo pairing depending on what my room sounds like, though I think this should be sufficient as it is very powerful.
