I'm pleasantly suprised by this mattress cover! First- I can tell it is new and hasn't been laying around forever because it is crisp and bright white. I wash all bedding and linens before use, so even though this was spotless and has no strange odors when I removed it from the package, straight to the wash it went. I can absolutely confirm that this has a waterproof layer because there was A LOT of excess water trapped after washing (which is normal/to be expected with waterproof covers). A little re-arranging of the cover in the machine and another spin cycle and it was off to the dryer (medium heat until dry). This washes/dries well without shrinking and the top pad material doesn't pill or get fuzzy. I love the super soft feel of the material. It is smooth and soft but has a bit of texture to keep the sheets above in place. This doesn't make any noise and it doesn't retain heat, which is a nice change for a waterproof cover. Very breathable and comfortable to sleep on. Another HUGE plus is that the stretchy sides are generously sized, so this covers my entire mattress (16") completely! I even have a bit of material to tuck under the mattress for a nice, clean look. With that comes the nice, deep pockets- again generously sized with enough to tuck under the corners. The elastic really hugs the matteres, keeping this cover in place without shifting or corners popping off.     • It WORKS.
Unfortunately certain medications make me prone to drenching night sweats. It’s uncomfortable to say the least to wake up freezing and everything is wet. Change the blanket, change the sheets, etc. but only to discover you’ve managed to somehow sweat enough for the actual mattress to be damp. Obviously that’s a problem and not a small one at that, mattresses are not cheap, and I’d rather protect the one I have for the duration that it’s good. So seeing this on Vine I thought it might solve my annoying problem, and oh wow at the difference. I still have night sweats, but now the cover keeps the actual mattress dry. When I go to change sheets I find the cover is magically dry, and the mattress underneath as well. Fantastic. Quality wise it seems well made, no loose threading anywhere, fits snug, and I’m pleased. Would recommend to anyone having this problem. I mean it doesn’t solve the night sweats, but at least I’m not looking at buying a new mattress. ... show more

I wouldn't call this a Mattress Topper. More like a Mattress Cover. It is maybe 1/4" thick. There is weight to it, maybe a thin layer of gel or foam, I can't really tell. I can say I didn't notice any difference using this over just the mattress. I was surely hoping for more of a difference. Maybe it needs more time to expand or something. Maybe I put it on the mattress too soon, I'm not sure yet. ... show more
