  • Perfect except for the waistband
I bought 2 of these Baleaf jogger pants - Black 01 in XL and 12-Black-cargo-jogger-2...in Large. I love them for their sweat-wicking properties. I'm in peri-menopause & sweat in a freezer, and not just a normal glistening - I sweat profusely everywhere. I needed these pants for both the cooling factor & to not show wetness. These fit that bill perfectly. Even for pants in the summer, they are just as cooling as shorts, thus they hide the sweat drops that run down my legs, protect furniture, & keep me from sticking to the car's leather seat. Regarding fit: For reference, I am 5'1", 160 lbs, ~27" inseam (short legs), and carry most of my weight around the middle section. I usually wear large to XL (sizes 14 - 16) tops and medium to large (sizes 10 - 14) bottoms. The xl is baggy & the large fits loosely, but it still works bc of the elastic waistbands & drawstrings. I might try the medium next time. The waistbands are not the same. The Black 01 elastic waistband is perfect: ~1½" wide, sewn throught to secure in place, and doesn't roll. The cargo pants' elastic waistband is <1", not secured within that tube seam, and rolls terribly. It sucks 97%, feels cheap (lowering Baleaf's quality standard imo) & I cuss at it every time I potty & pull them up again. It's definitely a thing. Length: Again, I'm short with short legs. I always get the short length, when available, in all my pants and, sometimes, still need to hem them. Both pants do balloon at the ankle on me (the xl noticeably more than the L, which is to be expected), but definitely not enough to be bothersome or warrant the inconvenience of hemming. The cargos have a 2" knitted stretchy hem at the ankle. The other has a secured 1" elastic inside of a tube seam. They both work equally fine for me now, but I suspect that the knitted cuff will stretch out over time. The pockets - POCKETS! The pockets rock & I love the extra ones on the cargo pants. Both pants have the same hip pockets with zippers (the cargos have a piece on the zipper pull with a 1" loop on the end that makes it easier to zip/unzip). I keep my phone there & zip it up just a tad to keep it from falling out when I stoop/squat/bend yet still able to grab my phone quickly without having to unzip. That is to say that the angle, height, & depth of the hip pockets, on both pants, work for me. The zippers have that small flap on top, which protects the integrity of the teeth and keeps the metal zipper pull from rubbing or scratching surfaces you may lean against. A small detail that I appreciate. The zippers are tight on both pants - sometimes I need both hands to operate, but that could be due to getting a larger size than needed (bagginess). Tight zippers increase the security of the contents inside, but adds a touch of inconvenience. A matter of preference and YMMV + they may loosen over time. The cargo pockets do not have velcro or anything securing the flap down. I prefer this bc velcro collects lint & reduces the efficacy over time. Besides, if I need something secured, I'd just put it in the zippered pockets. The hip pockets are deep enough to overlap with the cargo pockets (hip pockets end approx 1½" above the bottom of the cargo pockets). The fabric and seams are good quality & void of loose strings. Bottom line: I definitely recommend these pants and, if conflicted between sizes, I'd suggest going with the smaller one. However, Baleaf needs to change the elastic (especially the waistband) on the cargo pants asap. If they'd just use the same waist as the Black01 pants, they'd be 5+ stars & virtually perfect. I hope this is helpful. I rarely leave such detailed reviews, but I've included all the information that I wish I'd had when I was shopping around. ✌️ ☮️ ... show more

  • EXACTLY what I was looking for
Size: Large Color: Black 25.5'' Inseam
The Backstory: Once upon a time, I found the perfect pair of sweats (they were not these). This was 6 years ago. I bought 3 pairs of them when I realized how much I liked them because I knew someday, inevitably, I'd run out. Those sweats have been unavailable on amazon for approximately 5.5 years and I have never been able to find them again. I've checked intermittently, hoping that they'd be there again because once I find something I like, I stick to them and try to just keep buying the same thing as long as the quality remains the same. About 3 months ago after multiple holes started appearing in the crotch and the legs began to fray on all of them, I knew I'd have to find another pair of pants. The Search: I started passively searching around 3 months ago. I'm a med student so I don't have an abundance of time or money, so passive searching is me looking on amazon in the middle of a long shift or as I'm falling asleep in bed avoiding my responsibilities. These actually caught my eye pretty early on because I have two sets of legging shorts with pockets from Baleaf that I really like, and I thought that maybe these would be good too, but $37 was a little much for me to just spring on right away without proving to myself that I had no other options. Some other things caught my eye, but I kept coming back to these because they checked a lot of boxes for me (reviews talked about them as comfortable, they looked like they'd be light, they had adequate (and zipping!) pockets, reviews said they were soft, they had jogger bottoms so I wouldn't have the fraying ends problem again from stepping on them, and less importantly but still relevantly they had kind of the profile I was passively looking for). I decided to get a pair just to try it out, trusting that if I hated them or even if they didn't live up to my standards, I could just return them. The Verdict: I LOVE these pants. LOVE. I think it's too soon to say whether or not I love them as much as my old sweats, but they are already way up there and set to surpass the others if they last even half as long. They are light, deceptively stretchy material, quick drying, and have more than adequate pockets. They're extremely comfortable, look great, and fit well. I really appreciated reviews with pictures and sizes when I was making my decision, so here's mine: I'm 5'8 and what I would describe as a muscular 168lbs. At this size, I bought large to be safe, and I got the 25.5" legs, but I think I could have gotten a medium too and been fine and I just might still in the future since I've lost 20lbs in the last 2.5 months and plan to lose about 5-10 more in the next month. The legs are short, but I like that for running honestly (ran 5.5 miles in them this morning they were more comfortable than my normal shorts even, and not too hot at all). I'm definitely going to buy more (and already have). I also took them hiking yesterday with my dogs and they dried extremely quickly after my Great Pyrenees and German Shepherd tromped through the river and then immediately shook themselves off on me haha. I have no real cons to them, though I'll update if they break down quickly! Til then, I'll be ordering more and wearing them literally every day I can get away with it lol. Message for Baleaf: PLEASE don't take these off the market, I don't wanna go searching again for another perfect pair of pants LOL ... show more
