What appeared to be of great value for a set of NEW 10 lbs dumbbell set - really isn’t - when the unpacking / unveiling revealed the condition of the dumbbell set was far from being NEW. It appeared used, rusty, weathered and had a strong rubber odor. Very different from what’s depicted in the advertised photo of the product. This “ brand new” dumbbell set is going back for a refund! Just ordered another set- hopefully this is just a subpar pair that I received. —UPDATED Review—the replacement order that I received a few days later was in the same “non-new” rusty looking condition…a little dishwashing soap scrub wash removed the “rusty” residue and a little smear of A&D ( Vaseline) got it looking like brand new…after some elbow grease- it is STILL a great VALUE. ... show more

This was a good purchase. I ordered a pair of the 15 lb. weights, for general toning and workout use. The hex shape prevents the weights from rolling away when they're set down. The grip is knurled, adding to the control factor. The only (temporary) downside is the coating on the rubber/plastic shell surrounding the weights. The coating feels (and smells) a little like a petroleum-based chemical, and it did eventually go away. When not in use, I place the weights on a 12"x12" piece of corrugated cardboard, to prevent possible scuffs and staining on wood floors. These are exactly what I expected and work well. I upgraded from an adjustable 25lb set that I rarely adjusted down to this and saw immediate gains. But it's been a week since I've cleaned them and the faint rubber smell is still present in about half of the room where these sit on the floor. Ordered a set of 10 lbs and 15 lbs. Quality and value is excellent. Highly recommend. The 15 lb set is perfect. The 10 lb set has a very strong oily smell that I can’t sanitize out. Hopefully it fades.

I was looking for 10lb dumbbells, but many are pricey and do not look great. These get the job done and shipping was extremely quick too. It was packaged pretty well so it was a bit difficult to cut through all the tape, but I'm super happy with the product and that it was a reasonable price!

These were a good deal when I bought them, and the weight seems right. The only downside is the the handle is thinner than standard size and so isn’t as comfortable to hold. Not a big deal with lower weights but if you were to go for heavy dumbbells I might recommend paying more and getting a different brand ... show more
