Electrician here. This is a serious piece of gear. It's not very often that I need a lever hoist of this caliber. There's a saying... I'd rather have and not need it than need it not have it. Previously, equipment like this was provided (or rented) by my employer. I work for myself now. I ordered this to have it in my ever expanding tool collection. I just gotta find a spot to hang it without bringing the roof down. I'm impressed. Rated at one and a half tons, the hoist inspires confidence. Heck, it weighs a ton by itself. It's solid and sturdy. The action is smooth. The gears come well lubricated (got black all over my hands opening the package and checking everything out). The next time I have to get a big transformer or some ungainly 480V panel monstrosity up a flight of stairs, I'll be happy that I have my own come along. If one is worried about the quality of tools when ordering online and reading reviews to be sure, I hope this review puts one's mind at ease. I was honestly surprised to receive such a heavy duty piece of gear at such an affordable asking price. It's massive and worth every penny.

I'm more than pleasantly surprised with the quality of this hoist. We don't have the need for a more permanent fixture or very often, so this hoist is the perfect price point (I honestly think it's worth much more than it's being sold) and size for our loading and unloading needs that come up. This is a great purchase!

I didn't post pictures of this because the ones the vendor posted are quite good and accurate. This is a nice hoist. I'm confident it will do everything they say as it really is well made. The ratchet actuation of the chain is handy and there is an up/down lever to choose what direction the chain moves. Operation of the hoist is smooth and solid. Very easy to use. They went a little heavy on the grease as my hands turned black as I was handling it. Frankly, I prefer that to a hoist with no grease. Overall - I think this hoist is a darned good deal. I can't find anything about it I disliked. Very good value.
