This BalanceFrom mat is easy to install and is great for a home gym. The tiles lock together, leaving no seams to trip over. The mat does not quickly absorb liquids and cleans easily with a damp cloth. My treadmill and bike sink into the foam slightly, but I have not noticed any imbalance in the equipment. The mats have worked great for doing floor exercises, soft to ease impact strikes but firm to allow for balance while doing lunges.     • Great For Kid’s Play Area + Easy to Clean!

We recently transformed our basement into a play area for the kids. Concrete is cold and uninviting so we got these mats for the floor. I saw some in Home Depot but they were more expensive and not to mention a lot thinner. My wife told me to check out Amazon instead and that’s where I came across these. You get more bang for your buck and they’re thicker. We got several packs in blue and it definitely livens things up. It’s very easy to set up, you just fit all the pieces together. There were a few corners that had to be trimmed but that wasn’t a big deal at all. We got the entire floor done in less than 30 minutes. All in all, a very good product. It does get dirty though and since our son likes sitting and playing on the floor, we make an effort to clean the mats regularly. We usually start by vacuuming the area, then we use a cleaner. We have a mop with a microfiber pad and that works great at accumulating all the gunk. The head swivels too so we can easily clean the corners and edges. It depends on our schedule but we usually mop it with cleaner every 2-3 days. Sometimes, if there’s just a small mess we’ll use plain water. Pros: 1) The foam mats don’t have any noticeable smell even when you take it out of the packaging. It was something that we were worried about at first but now it seems like that was unnecessary. 2) You can trim the mats easily with a pair of scissors. That’s what we did near the door since it needed a gap in order to close. You can probably also use a utility knife or something similar…the foam material isn’t that hard to cut through at all. 3) I kind of mentioned this earlier but these mats are much more affordable than what you can find in stores. We spent less than $50 for the basement area and that’s a deal. 4) They serve as a great insulator. Our son likes to run around and jump and these mats do a great job of absorbing it all. I’m so glad I didn’t go with the thinner ones from Home Depot. 5) We didn’t do this but you can easily create a checkered pattern if you purchase the mat in two colors. 6) The foam mats are very soft and comfortable to walk and play on. Cons: 1) The mats kind of get slippery if you’re wearing socks so we always tell our son to take them off before playing. Better safe than be sorry… 2) You have to play with the foam pieces a bit to line them up exactly the way you want for edges. 3) Sometimes the pieces will come apart when our son is running up and down. He actually fell down once beacuse of that but luckily he took it with stride. Now we always make sure to watch him when he’s playing. 4) There was a layer of dust/debris on the foam mats out of the packaging so we had to wipe them all down with a bit of water and soap before putting them together. As the title states, this is acceptable quality while on sale. I bought during black Friday. The tiles have some quality control issues as well as some general features that I don't like. I would say: good for HITT if barefoot or in shoes, not socks. Good for weight lifting on a flat floor. Probably not the best for yoga if you are on your knees. Firstly, the thickness isn't consistent acrossed all the tiles. I have at least two that are slightly thicker than the rest. It's an eye sore. Secondly, the color is not consistent. Some tiles are darker than others and some have a gradient across them making it very hard to notice on a single tile but becomes obvious when the light side butts against the dark side of another tile. See photos The features I dont like: Density: it is very dense. Which is good and bad. Good for weights, bad for yoga. My knees started hurting after washing the surface (which you need to do). I weigh about 170 lbs (77kg). But, it seems supportive enough for weights. It doesn't seem like setting a plate on it over night will leave a mark. I'm sure a dumbell will as with any foam. Slippery: the texture is great. I love its appearance. But they went all in on the "easy to clean" and coated the surface in plastic or something. With sock feet you feel like you are walking on ice a bit. You can't make quick back and forth motions without slipping. But to their credit: very easy to clean. Cleaning: walking on the new tiles in sock feet leaves your socks feeling slippery when you walk on linoleum or hardwood after. That's why you need to wash them after installation. But again, that much is easy. The good: I got it cheap, the texture LOOKS good, the surface IS easy to clean, and the foam is very dense if that's what you need. ... show more

Just installed this flooring in our garage to convert it into a gym space. Instant upgrade - it’s thick enough so that I don’t have to use an exercise mat for floor exercises like lunges, etc. super easy to install and looks seamless. Only complaint is that it doesn’t have an inside corner edge piece (ie the edge pieces are only designed for straight or exterior corner) - but this was easy to remedy with a razor cut. ... show more

I started a jujitsu gym in my garage to train with a few friends. I don't have a lot of money for good mats right now so I was attracted to the price when I found these. They are a third of the price of conventional mats and they work just as well. I have no complaints and the guys that I train with were really grateful for the extra padding.
