I conducted a lot of research on tonneau covers for my truck, and finally narrowed it down to BAK Industries' X4 Revolver Rolling Truck bed cover for my 2019 Chevy Silverado (new body style). Installation: Was straight forward and easy, especially after watching a few installation videos and using the included installation instructions as a quick reference guide. I did end up having to shim the rails towards the front of the truck in order to get them both properly squared up, but once I did that, everything else fell into place nicely. Quality: Well designed/made, and the quality seems good so far, but we'll just have to see how it holds up over the years. Usability: Easy to unlatch and roll towards the cab and strap down, allowing for larger loads that extend above the sides of the bed. Also easy to roll back into place and latch/lock into place. Another bonus is with this model, compared to the flip/folding covers, is you can open/close the tail gate when the cover is latched/locked into place. This is especially nice if you have the automatic/easy close tailgate. Deciding factors: Initially I was going to get the cover that is hinged at the front of the bed, but you're limited to loads that don't extend above the bed, and requires you to remove the cover and set off to the side. I didn't got with a retractable cover because it takes up too much bed real estate; although it does have better security. So, its a give and take decision. The runner up was the BAK Flip tonneau cover, but when that is folded up it does block the rear view out the back window, and doesn't have the streamlined look the Revolver X4 has. Let me say I was a big BAK bed cover fan. I had one purchased in 2017 for my Silverado. It was made very well, the panels were thick and heavy duty and it rarely leaked. I traded in that truck for a new 2021 Silverado and first bought a GM bed cover called REV. It was made by the same BAK company, I believe it was similar to the G2 model. It was not thick, not heavy duty and leaked ALOT. I know these covers and you will have some leaking in the front and at the tailgate. But I never had leaks in the center of the cover on my 2017 cover. I had GM replace the cover and the 2nd one did the same thing. I received a full refund from GM and being a believer in BAK I bought the F1 top of the line cover. Guess what? It leaks as bad and maybe worst. The pictures added here are from the F1 cover, it leaks at the tail gate and front of the bed. I can live with that, but the leaks through the seals in the center of the bed are not acceptable, everything gets wet. What is the point of a bed cover in this situation. I will be returning this cover and trying to decide what to do next. What I have experinced is that BAK is NOT what it used to be! ... show more

I waited to post this review after having the cover on for a few months and multiple weather conditions. Ease of installation- A breeze! From out of the box to installed including minor adjustments made along the way, took me by myself 1.5 hrs tops. There is a great step-by-step tutorial on YouTube that I used which helped immensely. Pro tip, if you are installing on a 2020 GMC Sierra with the collapsing grab bar in the bed, you don't need to remove it! The cover rails won't interfere with it and it can still be used! Weathering the weather- The weather stripping along the side rails was wavy when first installed, but like many other reviews I read this "healed" itself over a few warm days in the sun and now lays flat. The cover has had a few inches (3-4inches) with no deflection or sag. Very little water (either from rain or car washes) finds its way into the bed, mostly near the tailgate which makes sense because there are 2 areas where the weather stripping don't overlap, or even meet, leaving a void. You will see why when you install yours. But 95% of the bed stays dry. Overall, this tonneau cover met all of my expectations. 5/5 stars, highly recommend. ... show more

    • Broken buckle.....
I purchased this product for my new 2019 GMC Sierra. I truly like the design for the product and its sleek profile. However..... Approximately 3 weeks into having the product I rolled the cover forward to be able to use the bed of my truck. When securing the strap in the buckle portion of the strap the male end of the buckle snapped into pieces. The recieving or female end of the buckle system is intact and fine, however, the male end is now garbage and I can't secure my cover on the passenger side of my vehicle. I hope the rest of the product does not wear the same way or that I have any additional problems. I hope that the company can provide replacement for this defective part. ... show more

I narrowed down my tonneau choices to the BakFlip or X4 and I'm very glad I chose the Revolver X4. It sits perfectly flush on the bed and it's very easy to open with one hand. It looks awesome. I installed it myself and had some trouble trying to align the cover with the rails. Took some time but finally got it down. So it took me about an hour and a half to install it after adjusting it many times. Another oddity is the latching end. Took me another 5 minutes to figure it out but you have to fold back the latch and then push down for it to lock. If you roll it out and try pushing down, then it might not lock right. You have to fold the end piece back then down. ... show more

This is a great heavy duty improved bed cover. I bought my first Bakflip for a Chevy Silverado in 2012. It was still working well when I sold it with my truck this year. The old Bakflip had lost one of it's support legs that hold it open. The paint was faded and slightly discolored even with regular washing and waxing. And many of the rubber bumper stickers had fallen off. Despite these aging deteriorations, the Bakflip still kept most of the rain out of the bed and kept the bed secure. I noticed the new Bakflip has some decent improvements such as a rigid end at the tailgate and clips at the opposite end. Installation was simple. I highly recommend this cover. ... show more
