Description

The BAKFlip MX4 was the first matte-finished, hard folding cover to market, becoming America’s 1 Selling Hard Folding Cover in just a few years. Simply put, the MX4 just looks better than other covers. Its sleek no-profile appearance allows you to maintain the appearance of your truck, while enabling you to securely stow cargo in the bed. The MX4’s pioneering, textured matte- finish adds a premium look and feel while also protecting against UV damage, annoying finger print marks, and scratches. MX4 has everything you expect from a premium cover. The engineers at BAK Industries fine-tuned even the smallest elements of the cover, down to adding cab corner caps and rail-end cap, to extending a matte-finish throughout the cover’s side rails, clamps, and elevator bolts. The MX4’s integrated buckle system and automatic latching mechanism allows you to drive with the cover partially or fully opened without covering the 3rd brake light. For 100% bed access, simply unlock the cover from either side via its pull latches and fold the cover all the way up against the cab. From there, you can prop the cover in place by tightening two rods into the underside of the panel. For enhanced durability, the MX4 also features pre-molded, shock-absorbent bumpers on either side of the panel, protecting the folded panels from hitting the cover during turbulent driving. This is a great cover very easy to install. Rolls up really nice. It’s been raining where I live little water gets in but I have had other covers and they are not 100% water proof. One thing advertising isn’t that great since it’s shown with the racks. The price for the cover is expensive I thought the racks were included. They should shade out the racks from the picture. I like this Tonneau cover. Installation took me about 3 days around 1 hour each day. Once you understand the installation, it becomes easy but I did not understand it fully until I really invested time into the project. I only wish the cover would snap into the rails just a little bit easier. I do feel that, once its snapped in, things are adequately dry and secure in the back of my 2021 Titan. I'd recommend this product for people seeking security and lockability. One thing I did not appreciate is that I now must keep the tailgate permanently locked since someone could easily take the cover if they desired. My tailgate does not lock electronically, which is now my next small project. ... show more

    • Great hard cover for Nissan Titan with toolboxes and utility rail system

I have had a hard cover on my old Ford F250 truck for 23 years, and the newer design by Bakflip is far superior. This is the ONLY hard cover that fits my 2016 Nissan Titan with utility rail system and Titan toolboxes. The only fitting I had to adjust for, are the knobs that tighten the small section of top near the cab. I cut the knobs off, to use the only nut to tighten. I will rarely need to open that section, and the knobs that come with the top prevent the toolbox lid from opening. ... show more

1 - The clamps they sent do not work with the rail system. I had to remove the rails. The rails will work if I only use the bottom holes. However, the supplement instructions specifically stated to use the same holes, except for the middle one. The clamps sent could have easily have been shortened and widened to work with the rail system. 2 - For this installation, the instructions said to use the longer bolts provided. The long bolts left 1.5 threads, so the nuts would not provided a secure grab. The washer provided would have prevented any nut from being attached. 3 - Speaking of nuts...they weren't provided. I had to go to rush hardware store at 9:30 in hopes of beating their close time in order to get the proper hardware. 6 longer bolts and 6 nuts that actually fit those bolts. 4 - The instructions for installing the rails were lacking. Perhaps this had to do with the incorrect instructions for the rail system and the fact that the clamps provided will not work with the rail system. 5 - The video on the website provided 0 additional help. Unfortunately, there were not any good alternative videos on Youtube to assist with how these long clamps could magically defy the laws of physics and work with the rail system. 6 - The hardware pack specifically said for Nissan Titan 2016+. Two points the positive side, once I removed the rails, went to the hardware store to get the proper nuts and bolts, and returned home, the installation only took an hour. Two, it looks good. I'm torn between 1 and 2 stars. If I didn't need the cover for a trip this weekend, I would have sent it back and gone with another manufacturer entirely. I'm only giving 2 because once I had everything, the install was easy. If Bak customer service has a decent response, I may go with a 3. However, I find it unlikely that I'll ever by a Bak product again unless their CS is so overwhelmingly good and provide appropriate hardware for installing with the rail system. Update - Downgraded to 1 star. I contacted manufacturer for replacement parts that would work with rails almost 8 weeks ago. They said that they would send. I've followed up 3 times. They have not sent and are no longer responding to emails. ... show more

    • Fantastic Quality Tonneau Cover!

This is a fantastic hard folding tonneau cover. The look, precise fitment, and ease of use all made this an easy decision. It is a bit pricey compared to the cheaper soft covers but if you plan on keeping your truck and want a long lasting and great looking cover it is worth the investment. I contacted Bak Industies as I had a few questions on the install and C.S. was extremely responsive and helpful. I have owned many different brands of tonneau cover over the years and this is by far my favorite. I owned the BAK G-2 model for my previous truck and loved that model as well. I won't go back to a soft cover and will only purchase the BAK brand due to it's great look and durability. ... show more

This was an easy install. I have a Titan XD. I did quite a bit of research to find a cover that would fit with Utilitrack and Titan box. Contrary to some of the comments and reviews I've seen, it will fit with Utilitrack and Titan Box. You do not have to flip the Utilitrack, rendering the Titan Box useless. You just have to use the supplemental instructions and adjust the brackets accordingly. It took me about 45 min to install. Only change I would recommend is that the end was about 1" longer on the tailgate. ... show more
