It is a great tonneau cover It looks great and was easy to install once I figured out what was going on. It’s not as strong as a CyberTruck tonneau but does support a surprising amount of weight. I like the way it folds out of the way for loading landscape materials with a bucket loader then folds back over the load so the highway speeds don’t blow the material out. And there are no rail troughs to get filled with the material. It isn’t water tight but pretty close to it.

Very Nice
Excellent product. Easy to install, only need wrenches. One tip I would give is to have something heavy about the fastener plugs when tightening them down. I used this up and down now and it works as advertised. Robust and sturdy construction. Doesn't seem to stop all water from getting in the bed... not sure if it is something I got wrong installing it. Wish it was a little cheaper...

Read the instructions twice
NOT Cheap! Sharp burrs, poor instructions. This was not as easy to install as I first thought. After my first and second try, I figured it out. The instructions are weak and should be revised to provide better instructions. The quality is good, but the manufacturing was poor. Lots of burrs on the holes sharp metal corners that should be removed before you install the cover. I had to trim my plastic cover on my tail gate to get the tailgate to close. One forward corner clip was broken when I opened the box. Now lets see what I have to do to get a replacement.

Quick delivery. Ordered on a Sunday, delivered on Tuesday. Arrive undamaged and everything in the box in great shape. You can do it solo but I recommend an extra pair of hands. ☆☆☆Note☆☆☆ Be sure to read the extra sheet of instructions for guidance on shims and spacers. Most trucks will need them. If they do. They are easy to add and are included just make sure you do them when called for. Otherwise the cover won't fit right and you will have to remove and replicate effort. Sound like I have experienced this? Yes I did. I also recommend watching YouTube videos to supplement the written instructions. All in all, very happy with product and very happy with the company that sold it to me.

Very nice looking unit!
The directions were a little difficult to follow, but after re-reading a couple of times figured out what to do. The paperwork said these would fit my truck even with caps on the truck bed rails, but they did not. So had to spend a day removing part of the plastic rail caps. After that fitting the equipment took some doing, but the end result is great. It would be a nice feature if the unit came with some kind of locking mechanism, as my truck isn't as new as some and the tailgate doesn't lock, so will need to find a way to remedy that. Just recently got it installed, but seems to work nicely. Hoping for a long life!

BAKFlip MX4-2009 Chevy 2500HD 6'6"
Replaced my Access canvas rollup with the BAKFlip MX-4. Hook and loop was wearing out. Lasted 13 years, so got money's worth. Definitely read the entire instructions prior to installing. I typically skip the "destructions" with any assembly and move right in. Big mistake. My truck needed multiple shims since the fender rails are no square or flat. Also, if you have a tailgate protector, you will likely no be able to shut the tonneau as they describe (tailgate 1st then tonneau). At the end of the day and a few choice words, I am super happy. It does leak slightly, but only in a high pressure car wash. It is a bit expensive, but I would definitely purchase again!

It doesn't fit properly on 2003 silverado 2500
This product does NOT fit a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD LS with a 6ft6in bed properly. Trying to shim and rig this cover into place and with some semblance of function has been one of the most frustrating and time draining projects I have ever done on a vehicle. The truck I put this cover on, is listed as a compatible vehicle for the cover. My truck bed has a spray in liner. At the front end by the cab, it measures approximately 64" inside the rails. At the tailgate end, it measures approximately 62". It is the 6ft6in bed. According to the installation instructions and videos, for this truck with the indented side rails you must use the provided shims at each clamping point to keep the tracks correctly aligned. I used them. Also, it is listed that unless you have a plastic drop-in type bed liner that you will typically need the provided spacers as well. I used those too. Bulkhead seal on top of front rail behind cab. Done. Set the rails up according to the instructions. So far so good. Put the cover on the rails to check the placement of the front small section by the cab. This is where the problems really started. The weather seal on the cover wasn't even close to touching at the front of the bed. It was nowhere near wide enough. I opened the cover up all the way to check the fitment along the rest of the bed. As I got to the last two panels of 4, they would not go down between the metal tracks. I was able to gingerly coax the 3rd panel down into place but it was a tight squeeze as I got closer to the last panel. The last panel would not go down at all. Not a chance. The locking mechanism was mounted too far out on either side of the panel and the metal bracket was nowhere close to being able to fit down between the tracks. I decided to try and refit the spacers before messing with the latch assemblies. I then removed the rails and removed the spacers from the back section on either side. I took those spacers and put them at the front end. So now I had 2 pieces of spacer stacked on top of eachother on either side of the rails at the front end of the bed. 1 piece of spacer in the middle, and none at the end. Went through the mounting and fitting process again. Still didnt fit properly. Too much of a gap at the front. Not enough clearance at the back. Took the rails off again. Shaved off the bedliner on truck side rails for the last section of the cover. Cut a spacer in half and stacked on top at the front again. So now 3 spacer thickness at the front, 1 in the middle, none at the end and removed the spray in bed liner back down to the paint. At this point the front gasket was covering enough of the tracks on either side to be useful, but the last panel still would not fit down into the tracks properly and the latch assemblies definitely were not fitting. Took apart the Phillip's self-tapping sheet metal screws on the latches for the last panel. Moved the latches so that there was more clearance and re-tapped the screws to lock it in place. The cover still would not go down without significant force, but it was POSSIBLE to get it beaten down into place with my hands. Went back to the front after lining the tailgate seal up properly and found that I was unable to get the bolts that hold the front section down through the metal plates attached at the front on the rails. The rails were still too far apart. I tried and tried and tried, and it simply would not maneuver into place. I loosened the front clamps on each side, pulled the rails away from truck bed in order to get the bolts through the plates, then forced the rails back into place using the clamps. The front seal of the cover barely sits on the bulkhead seal even with the rear seal barely resting on the closed tailgate. The seal from the cover to the truck at the front is not going to keep water out. Just isn't possible because of the large discrepancy in width. The rear panel takes considerable force to get it to close down into the tracks, repeatedly going from one side to the other of the bed to hammer it down into place a little at a time. During the course of this nightmare install, I somehow lost one of the little machine screws for the clips that hold the cover up against the sack window when fully open. Just to add to my misery for the day. I watched 3 Bak industries install videos, including one specifically on a GM truck with the indented rails. I read the instructions many times. I quadruple checked the part number of the cover and the applicable vehicles. Nothing indicated any kind of problems like what I encountered. I am terribly disappointed in the fit of this product and the amount of effort it required to get the cover mounted onto the truck in a remotely usable fashion. I regret buying this cover for this truck. *update: since the install, I generally am happy with the cover. The installation was frustrating, but the cover is nice and functions well enough aside from being a bit tight to put down at the last section. The seals are still barely touching, and it certainly isnt waterproof, but it serves as a decent protection to at least keep things from getting soaked. Upgraded my review to 2 stars.

Annoying Occurrences
I have had mixed emotions about this cover. I bought this because my boss had one and was impressed with what it could carry on top of it. There were times he would roll up on the job with 4 sets of scaffolding with the cross bars loaded on top of it. This top could carry a load without doing any damage done to it. He carried supplies underneath the cover (we live in Ut. where snow and rain occur) and everything was dry. I have always had a topper on my trucks to keep my tools out of the elements. So when I bought another truck I decided to buy (11/21) the Bakflip MX4. This cover at first worked great. It kept my tools (worked as a finish carpenter) out of the elements so nothing got wet, which kept them from getting rust due to moisture. Then a problem happened. When flipping the flaps I started noticing a bulge of the seal over the rail. The first 3 pics shows the problem (would happen on both sides) of the seal attachment to the cover coming out if it did not aline to the rail. The cover would shift causing it to not aline properly causing the bulge. After putting up with this problem (of course this would happen on the opposite side of cover when closing) for 6 months I finally called Bakflip and CS said I installed the cover out of square to the bed. I told her I was a finish carpenter and when I cross measured the cover on install it was within 1/32”. She said another new top would be sent out and I had to take a pictures of the cover (holes drilled in each flap of cover) being replaced to close the claim. Be sure to do this for future claims. To their credit 4 days later I received a new cover. Took old cover to recycle which they took. After installing new cover (again within 1/32” of being square) I started noticing a bulge this time at passenger side front of cover. This time it was the seal in between the last flap and the part attached to the front of the bed. At first it had shifted just enough to cause the bulge. It progressively got worse. See the last 4 pictures. Tried sliding the seal to its original position. Couldn’t budge it. Knowing the procedure of a claim, I didn't call but took pictures of the problem and sent an email to Bakflip. Again, credit goes to their CS as the next day received an email saying that a new top would be sent out. This time they said nothing about drilling holes in the cover it is replacing, but you can be sure I will do it anyway. Oh yeah, what happened to the first cover was again happening to this one. Another annoyance was the rubber caps on the rods that when fully open to secure it wore out. Having some heat shrink rubber caps I fixed that problem. Also, beware of note in instructions to check the clips and bolts which hold rail to the bed. Mine did come loose and one came off. Tightening and putting the clip on, I this time put some blue Loctite on the bolts and it seems to have solved that problem. To sum up this well winded review, I want to justify the 3 star review. Going from a 5 star (which I would have given without these problems) with looks, finish and the load it could carry on top of it. One star reduction for having to replace, install and dispose of one lid. Another star reduction for having to replace, install, and dispose of another lid. In 28 months of buying this cover, I am now into 3 covers. I hope this doesn’t mean that (Bakflip warranty with MX4 is 5 years) in 5 years I will have gone thru 5 covers.
