This bed cover is fantastic. Sturdy and easy to use as well as install. People here complaining about it not being 100% waterproof? Those are the same people who find issues with EVERYTHING. There is no such thing as waterproof in a Tonneau cover. Even the one piece flip ups get water from time to time. If you install this correctly (and it's not difficult to do) you should be able to go through an automated car wash and hurricane power dryers and note a VERY small amount of water in the back end of the bed. That's it. And that is completely as expected. Do people really think a rolling cover will be 100% waterproof? That's a you problem, not the cover's problem. This cover is fully recommended. This is the second Bakflip that I have purchased. My first one was this same model and I put it on my Ford F150XLT 2013 which I recently sold. I had never had a cover until then and always chose to go with a shell which was in the way about 1/2 the time and the other half was a blessing. This cover on my first truck showed me that I could do without a shell since I am not a camper type. So I bought a brand new 2023 Ford F150 Lariat recently, looked around a little bit on line at other covers but knowing the quality of this product it was an easy decision to get another Bakflip MX4. I am so glad I did. It is very well thought out and engineered. Kudos to the engineers of this American made product. Then installation with a well engineered product goes very easily. Did it myself again in about 3hrs and it went on like butter. No drilling or wondering where things go. It is as close to watertight as it can be, weathers well, folds up easily and securely when it is in the way. Bottom line I love it and I am a pretty harsh critical of poor engineering and engineered products. Bakflip is bottom line cool! I highly recommend. ... show more

There is a lot to like about this cover. Fits nicely, works well, pretty straightforward to install, looks great. But two little nagging details hold it back from a 5 star rating. 1) the back edge of the side rails is roughly cut, sharp edged, and needs a little bending/fiddling to get it to clear the tailgate. Seeing an exposed aluminum rough cut edge on an otherwise beautifully blacked out top is just poor attention to detail. 2) There are a lot of aluminum shavings rolled up with the top. These are just going to be trouble. They are going to scratch the top, and scratch anything they end up embedded on - like the paint of your brand new truck. These issues are well documented in various installation and review videos made over the last two years. I was naively hoping these were early production / COVID related issues that would have been smoothed out over time. Nope. Still has these little issues. Would I buy it again? Yes. Recommend it? Yes. But come on, these relatively easy issues to correct have been around for probably two years. Why not fix them? Installed on a 2023 F150 ... show more

Very easy to install. I just watched the video and the install went well. Heavier then I thought. 71lbs. Love the fact that there is no external locking key. It locks with the tailgate. Nothing to get water in and no extra key to carry.

This is the 3rd G2 I've owned. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the G2 now has the new style lip at the tailgate end, which does not require you to open the tailgate before closing. One of the G2's i had for 9 years (swapped from a 2010 Ram to 2013 Ram) and only had one issue, but Bak sent me a repair kit free of charge... that took all of 10 minutes to fix. Metal shavings as others mentioned. Be careful. Experienced most issues as others with one star reviews did. Arrived with bent/dented side rail, although did not interfere with installation Did not close well at the joints. The caps there kept coming off. Had to shave off excess rubber seal that was getting in the way (poor craftsmanship) then used superglue so the caps would stay on. Hope it lasts. Small dent on the inside of one of the folding covers, although not visible when closed Insulation strip looked of cheap quality The latch is made of hard plastic. Bet cover could be snapped open with enough force using a screwdriver or something similar. End caps kept coming off, had to use superglue to get them to stay. Fit seemed ok, but after recent moderate rain it leaked like crazy!! It is advertised that it can fit a 2023 F-150 (even though the packaging says 2021-2022); it doesn't! Overall expected better for the price. This is definitely not worth it!! I have considered returning, but when I tried, there is no prepaid label provided and cost of returning is prohibitively expensive ($300+). Consider this before buying and you find your cover is as bad as mine was. Then you are probably stuck with it. ... show more
