• Awesome!
Color: 500C color display Size: 44T & 17.5Ah Down tube Battery
Junstar was a great seller to deal with. Answered all my emails within a day or two and was very helpful making sure I had the right special parts!!! I bought the BBS02 with a 48v 17.5ah battery and the 500c display. Installation was super easy. I do wish the battery mount was a bit more secure but I secured it with a couple straps just in case. The bottom bracket motor mount could have a little better design but probably has more to do with my frame than the motor. Buy the addons! By this I mean, get yourself a nice Lekkie Bling Ring, the shift sensor, controller programmer, and install tool. I rode it around before the shift sensor because I couldn't decide where to mount it. After I found a good spot on the frame, I got it on and it made such a huge difference - totally worth it. The Bling Ring has the perfect offset in the 42t version and will be ideal gearing for the majority of city commuters. The programmer is very useful to set the motor up how you want it. There is a lot of information on the forums to help with this. I was able to double my battery range by changing the power profile of the motor. The 500c display is great because it sits so unobtrusively on the handlebars, but has all the information needed in a concise display. I cruise about 25-28mph and get about 65 miles per battery charge. ... show more

 • Top notch motor and customer service!
Color: C961 display Size: 46T & 17.5Ah Down tube Battery
Omg, this motor is amazing!! Easy conversion, found all the info I needed to install this on YouTube. The customer support was top notch (thank you Millie for prompt replies). Lessons from my build: I paid a bike shop to remove my old bottom bracket and pedals ($25 well spent, they had all of the tools, took them 10 mins). Do not try and install the shift sensor at the gear shifter, the supplied cable won’t reach it, and it doesn’t work well there, install it inline next to the back tire. I have a mountain bike, the max front chainring that I could install was 44t. Don’t try and put a 52t, it won’t fit. Buy the Bafang installation tool, unless you have a full bike tool set. My mountain bike was an Xs frame, the down tube battery mount did not fit, I had to install it on my back rack, I actually like it better back there, now I still have my water bottle cages. Do not worry about having to download any special software to use throttle only. I have the C961 controller, I can use throttle only with PS 1-9 without pedaling, or when I start pedaling I stop using the throttle and get the same speed with minimal effort. This thing goes fast! I haven’t tested the longevity of the battery charge with just using throttle compared to pedal assist, I’ll update that info later. ... show more

 • Received the older version of upgraded controller
Color: 850C color display Size: 52T Chain Ring
UPDATE - their customer service people really went above and beyond trying to make this right for me and they did! I would definitely order from them again, Just for their excellent customer service especially with your build. **** The actual mid drive is great but this review is for the seller - junstar, I received the OLDER version of the upgraded controller from them. The current version controller on this kit should have 4 cables coming out of it (for display, battery, speed sensor and last, gear sensor plug), the unit I received only has 3. I even posted that question before ordering this kit from junstar and was told that it has the gear sensor plug built in the controller. One of the problems with this build was keeping the cables/wires neat so they don’t get in the way, instead I have to attach an additional cable from the brake cutoff plug then run it back to the rear of the bicycle for the gear sensor cable. This should’ve been a ONE star review but to be fair they shipped this expedited, they responded and admitted that this was their mistake and they will be supplying the extra cable for my gear sensor. It also could’ve been easily a FIVE star review if I received the actual product that I ordered, just very disappointed for now. ... show more

 • perfect add on to a bike if you want electric.
Color: 850C color display Size: 44T & 17.5Ah Touring rack Battery
I was not sure what to do about this I had a perfectly good bike so it made sense to get the kit but you can buy a whole bike for not much more with a motor installed. I figured I did not need another bike so I got the kit. Glad I did I was very impressed with the quality and how easy it was to install. Some things I learned ... You need to get the tool they sell for the motor you can get it on amazon. Or get it instead for the light never figured out how to do that though so I just let it come with the light, the light is worth having to buy the tool. I got the C850? display very nice worked well hard to see in daylight sometimes. The Digital display has the level of pedal assistance in larger numbers. The light that comes with it was very nice and comes on automatically at night if you have the setting turned on. You turn it on by pushing the + and holding it.. no one tells you that.. It also puts the display in Dark Mode so having the light on in the day time would make the display unreadable .... The cable connectors for the LED headlight on the motor side are not marked with polarity and they need to be connected the right way or it will not work. Do not plug them in all the way until you see if the light will work then push them the rest of the way. You can't pull them out again they seem to lock. These are the only cables that you could plug in wrong. This is 6V DC so if you have a meter you can figure out which one is +. The display has a trip counter to clear it press and hold the + and the - button The directions for install are not that good but there are lots of videos on Youtube to watch. You need some bike tools to remove the cranks and bottom bracket. you cant use something else you have to have the tools. you will need a crank removal tool and a bottom bracket tool. If you don't have the tools you might be able to get a bike shop to remove them for you. Since my front derailer had a screw I could remove it from the chain without breaking the chain that made it easier. Cable management was less a problem then I thought. It is a bit of a mess around the handlebars you might want to get some velcro ties from the dollar store so you don't have to keep cutting off the cable ties every time you adjust something. You will have to readjust the brakes and the rear derailer. I was not able to get the chain to line up with the smallest and the largest cog. however, with the motor, you don't really need them. unless you are going to peddle and turn off the motor. I am not sure what can be done to fix that. Maybe a Lekkie chain ring could help. I did have some problems with the bottom bracket cable guide the plastic thing that is under the bottom bracket and guides the rear derailer and brake cable I had to cut it in half and just use the lower half so then the rear derailer had to be readjusted. it does work fine that way. Also if the motor was allowed to go up and touch the bike frame then it would pinch the cables so I had to put a hard rubber stick-on foot between the frame and the motor.
