My wife and I were contemplating purchasing the E-Bike brand vs the Bafang setup. We tried the name brand model and liked it a lot, and they worked very well for us. Butt.... at approximately $15 to $1700.00 each, the price was a little steep. So I purchased the 700 model kit with a 20ah battery to try it out. It was installed on a Schwinn 21 speed bike, the original cassette had to be replaced at a cost of $15.00 and around $7.00 for a cassette socket. Installation of the kit was very easy and yes, you will need metric hex wrenches and sockets. It took about 8 hours to originally fully charge the battery. I was really surprised on how well the pedal assist and thumb throttle worked, you do hear the electric motor "humming " during acceleration but the sound is very low & negligible. I upgraded the display and it's very visible in direct sunlight. The overall performance exceeded my expectations and I did order another one for my bike. In the last 6 months both "kits" have worked flawlessly. We have logged over 150 miles on them so far. The longest ride was 26 miles around Key West with a battery drain of approximately 16-18%. Avg. speed was approximately. 6-10 mph. During my installation and testing of this product I found out a few things, 1) Max speed I achieved on the 750w mtr. was 34.7MPH. 2) Kickstand should be relocated if mounting the battery on the rear rack. 3) I installed hydraulic brakes 4) Needed a few longer zip ties than those provided. 5) When compairing the 20" x 3" to the 29" or 700 x 1.5" size tires, the ride experienced is much more comfortable on the larger size tires. With this in mind you will save 50% or more by retrofitting a currently owned compatable bike. ... show more

This is my third Bafang conversion kit. I've been pleased with the first two. Installed them myself. Have not been able to get the pedal assist to work. Did all the trouble shooting I could find. Replaced the PAS sensor, cables and controller. Bafang and Greenergia have been no help at all. All they can recomend is replacing the sensor. I pointed out that I had already done that. I'm done dealing with them. No product support from Greenergia. Anyone want a cheap kit? ... show more

Works absolutely perfectly right out of the box. Installed on Trek with an extra small frame. Once cables were routed nicely, it is a nice looking kit. Added benefit that the throttle is tied to the pedal assist level, so you can basically choose your speed limit. Our other ebike was not tied to pedal assist, which has its own benefits. This is good for a beginner, as the throttle can feel a bit odd. ... show more

Keep in mind that this is a universal kit and you will have to do some fiddling to make it work on your bike. In my case the pedal sensor would not fit on my bottom bracket with interfering with the cone adjustment lugs, requiring a new one. Also the rim is an aero style which doesn’t make since on a 20’ wheel and requires a longer Schrader valve on the tube. I had some alignment problems and the flat lugs on the axle are just a little big for the dropouts. Performance is a mixed bag the motor is quite and has virtually no drag when unpowered making it good for regular pedaling there is a lot of lag when you push the throttle or begin to pedal higher power levels make the bike jump all at once after a couple of seconds and is a little unsafe. Motor seems very efficient and has a lot of power I may have to replace the controller to make it smoother and more safe ... show more

I am very impressed with the power and price of all this. I used the bicycle kit with 3 three pin Julet extension wires. While there is lag in the throttle or pedal assist there is no lag to cut out the motor. Letting off the throttle or touching the brakes cuts power instantly. This thing will go right up a mountain now. I flat filed the dropouts a bit to hold the axle like a wrench. I am knowledgeable about bicycles, but never anything electric before this. I am pretty sure that an intelligent monkey could put this together. It was very simple. ... show more

I ordered the 700c wheel, smallest battery, and color display. After some difficulties on installation(largely because I had to "shoehorn" the wheel into a slightly small dropout) the results have been far beyond expectations. After test rides my neighbor and 2 sons want to buy/take it. I would not recommend this project to everyone. A journeyman knowledge of tools and bicycles are highly desirable. ... show more
