Although this power supply is marketed as a replacement for the Snoo bassinet, we approached it from a more technical angle and put it through bench testing to see how it actually performs electrically. The short version: it does exactly what it claims to do, and it does it reliably. Under load, the unit delivered a steady 12V output across a wide current range. Even when pushed to its full 4-amp rating, voltage only dipped slightly to around 11.5V, which is more likely attributable to resistance in the extra-long 11-foot cable than any weakness in the supply itself. Ripple measured well within acceptable limits for a switching power supply of this type, and overall regulation was solid. In practical terms, it provides plenty of clean, usable power for its intended purpose and beyond. Thermal performance was also reassuring. Running at full load for an extended period, the adapter warmed up but never became hot to the touch. Build quality feels robust, the casing is sturdy, and there’s a small green indicator light that makes it easy to confirm power at a glance. The long cord is a real bonus and eliminates the need for awkward outlet placement or furniture rearranging. One thing worth noting is the barrel connector. It appears to be specific to the Snoo application and is not a standard size I commonly see. That’s not a flaw if you’re buying this as a Snoo replacement, but it does limit plug-and-play compatibility for general projects without an adapter. We used this as a high-current 12V supply on a test bench for a project that required dependable power, and it performed exactly as hoped. I measured the voltage on this AC Adapter under light load at a rock steady 12.09v DC. It appears to have excellent voltage regulation circuitry. The adapter case is sturdily constructed and has a green LED light to let you know you have good AC voltage input connected. The 4 Amp output is quite high for an adapter this size which is great. It is designed to work with Snoo powered bassinets and will work with any of them that require up to 4 Amps of power. This is not a wall-wart designed adapter so it uses a normal AC plug that won’t block other plug outlets on your AC wall receptacle. Both the AC cord and the DC connector cord are plenty long (11 feet) for most any application you would need. I will be using this as an LED floor lamp replacement. This adapter is also designed with all required safety features and is UL listed. This means it has been tested by an independent laboratory to meet all government safety requirements. Always look for UL or ETL certifications, both of which ensure third-party company testing and regulatory compliance. ... show more
