This is the 3rd backpack shoulder style mount I've tried since purchasing an action camera and they all seem to have the same flaw. This mount is a little larger than others, it's a little longer in length and has a little bit more overlap than others. The inside has a textured, rubber-like material intended to give it a little more grip when attached to a backpack strap. On the outside is a buckle style mount that can accept the included buckle style action camera mount in either direction, which is a nice touch and adds a bit of versatility. The mount is pretty standard, making sort of a 90 degree turn and pushing the attached camera away from you and the attached backpack strap which I think gives it a little more space to adjust up or down as needed. It also included a 1/4"-20 attachment that could also be attached to the mount (and ultimately to the should strap) but I'm not sure I'd want to put anything too heavy on it. Initially after attaching a camera to the mount it seemed to do the job pretty well. The hook and loop held nice and tight and felt sturdy while in use walking around and hiking. The angle of the camera wasn't quite pointing directly forward in the direction I was moving, but it was close enough to give the sense of travel. Overall it was easy to set up and easy to use. The one flaw I found in this was that when you're not wearing the backpack it is attached to and leave the mount on it, it tends to slide down the strap requiring you to detach it and reposition it entirely. It's not a huge deal, but if you wanted something you don't have to think about all day as you're hiking, this mucks that up slightly. ... show more

This is a hook and loop closing strap adapter suitable for most action cameras that have GoPro compatible mount adapters. I tested this with a GoPro 10, which has the foldaway rather than a fixed mount adapter. This made attaching the camera to the adapter a little trickier than it should be, since you need to make sure one side doesn't fold down during the process. This is a GoPro problem, not an issue with this device, but something you should be aware of. Once everything was connected, I attached this to a small backpack I use for photo shoots. This mount is better suited to wider straps than those on my backpack. I had to tighten the hook and loop carefully to attach this more stably to the backpack strap. This is a useful option if you like to film while walking or hiking and don't want to use a helmet adapter or chest adapter. At just under $10 the value is reasonable, but similar devices may be included in a multipack set. If you just need a shoulder strap mount and have a wide strap on your backpack, this is a good value. ... show more
