They provide a smooth even cut instead of the hair looking chewed off. The graphite coated blades are more comfortable and perform a lot better than the metal injection molded blades. If I would’ve know that all I needed was this blade, I would’ve replaced it as soon as I bought these clippers. The fade blade gives me the most clean cut, very similar to Oster blades. My fades actually “fade” leaving no lines at all as opposed to the taper blade. I’m so glad I figured it out!
