I bought this to replace my old babyliss that I stumbled upon by accident in a clearance section somewhere. That thing was the best straightener, lasted a decade with 3 teenage daughters, had a nice long cord, just fantastic. I didn't know what a treasure I had. When it finally died, I tried to level down. Found some midpriced straighteners ($40-70) with great reviews thinking to save some bucks. After many disappointments I have returned the the expensive but wholly worthwhile babyliss. Ahhhhh..... My hair looks good again. It gets hot enough, grips my hair tightly enough to only need one or two pass throughs and leaves it silky and straight.

I was in desperate need of a new flat iron. I’d had the same Paul Mitchell one from when I was 13 and needed an upgrade, my wig units would never get as straight as I wanted and always got frizzy. My friend recommended this and this is honestly the best investment I’ve ever made. I just used it last night and I literally am writing this review the next day! This is my first ever review in over 10 years of using Amazon, and it’s long overdue! I’ve been using the same old Revlon straightener that my mom bought me from Marshalls back in 2010. It tugs and pulls at my hair, but with my thick, frizzy hair, the wider barrel allowed me to straighten more in one swipe, so I kept using it. Plus, I tend to get attached to my old products. A few years ago, my cousin gifted me an older model of the Chi straightener. While it worked, I always noticed how much heat it gave off, which left my hair feeling burnt and stiff. Then, I randomly saw a review of this straightener on TikTok and decided it was time for a change. It arrived this morning, and I couldn’t wait to try it, though I was still a bit skeptical. Let me tell you—I don’t think my hair has ever been this straightened in my life! Not even salon blowouts have left my hair this shiny and smooth. The barrel is smaller than my old straightener, so it takes a bit longer, but the results are absolutely worth it. Consider me convinced. I’ve already tossed my two "emotional support" straighteners. I love this flat iron and it served me well for 4 years; however, I just recently took it on a trip with me to Europe because it’s labeling says it’s dual voltage but it is NOT dual voltage. I took it to Europe and unfortunately after flagging it into an adapter, the voltage fried my flat iron and now bringing it back to the US it no longer works. I turn it on and it just shows the number 86 and eventually gets to 90 but never goes any higher. I’ve tried what I could to bring it back to life but no luck. I’ve ordered another one of these and it just arrived in a box that says dual voltage :( please beware. It’s unfortunate cause I’d love this to work overseas but now I’m out $100!

This is one of the best straighteners I’ve ever had. It heats up quick it has an automatic shut off. It’s thin and easy to use. It’s got a different kind of cord that doesn’t tangle easily. It does a great job on my hair, leaves it shiny and smooth.
