Having spent many late nights and long hours in an inexpensive and rigid wooden glider with our first son, I promised myself that I would treat myself to a top-of-the-line nursery chair if we had another child. I was nervous about purchasing an $800 recliner without being able to see it in person, but so far (two weeks in) I’m very happy with this purchase decision! The package was extremely heavy, as is the chair - it’s not easy to move around. This being said, once we opened the package we found the chair was in two simple parts and it was incredibly easy to put together. Both the gliding and reclining function are smooth, effortless, and quiet. The recline is significant - it doesn’t lay totally flat but it reclines enough that it would be easy to sleep in. I also love the lumbar pillow and suspect that it will end up being a godsend. I was most impressed with the fabric of this chair. While part of this chair’s appeal for me was that it is made in part of recycled plastic bottles and recycled yarn, I was also concerned this might lend itself to a less comfortable fabric. This is not at all the case - this chair is SUPER soft and comfortable. I was also worried about how much space this chair would take and was surprised at how compact it really is - even reclined. This is a positive thing for me, but the narrowness of this chair is something that some purchasers may wish to be mindful of. I am 5’6”, normally a size 10-12, am currently 7 months pregnant and I fit in this chair quite comfortably, but there’s not a ton of room to spare - maybe an inch or two on either side of me. I do wish it was available in other colors, although I think the neutral color it comes in is lovely and would compliment a wide variety of other colors. I added two photos - one in the evening with the bedroom light on and one with natural light - to give a sense of the color offered. My last food for thought is that it might be worth it to shop around. I realized after I purchased this chair that I could have saved 5% at Target (because we have their RedCard) or 10% at Modern Nursery. When the total cost is $800, that’s a decent chunk of change. However, the glider is not returnable with some other vendors and Amazon’s customer service has never let me down, so overall I’m happy we purchased this glider from Amazon. This chair kept popping up in “best” lists across a ton of websites, like What To Expect, Babylist, etc., so I decided to add it to my registry. For the first 3 weeks of my baby’s life, I practically lived in this chair (no, really: I slept in this chair overnight, every night, for 3 weeks straight. Appalling. We brought the box up four flights of stairs to the nursery. Upon opening and assembling, we found that the fabric was torn on the right armrest (see photo). This type of damage appears to have happened to other reviewers on Amazon. To add insult to injury, there was a terrible odor like rotten eggs that emanated from all parts of the fabric of the base and now the smell has filled the nursery and is lingering despite trying to air it out. Also, the metal parts do not look new and appear rusted, which other reviewers have noted as well. Overall, incredibly disappointed about the lack of quality despite the popularity and high price. The smell raises deep concerns as this product was supposed to be Greenguard Gold certified and toxin/chemical-free, and we would not want mom and baby to use this in the state this glider arrived. ... show more

My husband scoffed a bit when I first told him the price of this chair, but I had heard such good things that I went for it anyway. I have zero regrets. I have spent many nights in this chair in the nursery with my baby. I love that the recline is auto with the push of a button, because trying to close a manual recliner while holding a sleeping baby can be a challenge. The recline is also nice and far back, so if you ARE sleeping in the chair it feels like you're truly resting. The other thing to note is the high back and the sides on the back. Comfortable and cute chair but after getting upstairs into nursery and putting it together, it didn’t work! For the price of the chair, I expect it to be functional and comfortable. Unfortunately only one of those were true. We called the babyletto company (which was completely useless) who redirected us to Amazon. Amazon was wonderful with return. Chair works perfectly fine and is great for a short parent (I am 5’2). It came with a small rip in the back. Have been trying to contact customer service about it but the number provided is not in service so I emailed them. Hopefully Babyletto gets back to me.

This couch has such a terrible smell. We've had this couch for about three weeks now and when i sit on it the fumes still give me a headache. Unfortunately they are out of stock and i'm unable to exchange it. I've tried several chairs but since i'm having a c-section this electric recline is the only chair i can use. I know the price tag can hard, but if you want to spend a few extra $$ this is what I would want to spend it toward. So glad I got it. My husband and I use it all the time. I have friends that have this with much older children and they use it still for bedtime reading. I’m honestly going to move this to my room once we don’t use it in his room.
