This camera is plug-and-play and simple to set up without wifi, making it very easy to take traveling or to someone's house. The receiver has a crisp picture and is small enough to slip into a pocket. Range is good; it even works in my yard. Receiver can be kept plugged into its charging cord on a nightstand, then unplugged for wireless use when baby is napping and you need to do things around the house. Night mode works well and the camera isn't bright or obtrusive - it can be angled a bit but not to big extremes - it works best either mounted high over the crib if you need a close-up view, or kept on a dresser across the room. Audio is good enough to do the job! For $29.99 at the time of this review, this is a steal.

The Vtimes store monitor and camera is a complete dedicated direct connect frequency hopping FHSS baby monitor system that is secure , works well, and is very easy to set up. The system uses the 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi band which provides very low video latency and excellent audio delivery. The camera is powered by a 5V small power supply and the 2.4" TFT monitor can run internally on its 950Mah battery or with the other included 5v power supply. During testing, the monitor ran for over 9 hours at high brightness and with the audio fully enabled. The TFT monitor is big enough to see clearly what the camera is pointed at and the night vision ( B&W) picture is good enough to see objects that are in close field of view in a completely dark room. The overall viewing angle for the 2.4" TFT screen is limited, after about +- 15' from center of screen the contrast and resolution declines quite a bit ! (nature of the less expensive TFT screen) Setup and operation is a breeze and overall range is very good using 2.4GHZ frequencys. Overall build and performance quality was quite good, and this product should work for any small area monitoring as well both day and night.

First things first....the camera on this unit is AMAZING. Clear and great focus. Sound is also very clear. This was so easy to set up and even easier to see our baby in the crib. I was thrilled at the length of the cord that connects to the camera. This may seem like a silly point, but being able to "snake" the cord so that it is out of a baby's reach, is VERY important. We have the camera set up over the baby bed and we have been able to view it from as far, as approximately 75-100 feet away. Maybe the best parts of this camera and cam/video recorder, is that neither requires batteries. The camera is connected to an outlet and the "receiver" is cordless and is charged thru an uncluded DC 5V cord. This is set up with no wifi needed and THAT alone, is 100% worth it.

For the price, you can't beat it. BUT the night vision is horrible if completely dark. In the daytime the picture is clear. It works without any issues. Audio is great. The battery lasted longer than expected. I'd recommend.

The main benefit of this type of system is its inability to connect to wifi. Who would have guessed that we would come to the point where we would pay more for items without wifi connectivity? The benefits of this are many when your privacy and safety are involved. Without a wifi connection, no one is hacking into your camera and getting a look around at you or your kids. Anything that connects to the internet is open to being hacked. The camera and monitor work well together and provide a clear, sharp picture and sound. A good value and a safer home camera option.

The best part is not having to download any app or connect with bluetooth or wifi. Just plug in the camera, turn on the rechargeable monitor and it's somehow connected already. The best connectivity for busy parents with children. Camera video quality is not that great the color contrast is white washed. But it does work so it's better than nothing. The base can be hang on a wall and tilted a pretty good amount. Monitor has a kick stand for table top placement. Not much else in terms of features.

Not super fancy, but it will allow you to monitor your child well enough. Getting it set up was a bit finicky and the battery life isn't the greatest, but it will last through the night at least.
