Dear, Whoever Made These: I hope you become a BILLIONAIRE. Pain Relief 10/10- I had to get braces back on just the bottom, and they were cutting up my mouth so badly (ulcers for about 3-4" across); could barely eat and so swollen on the outside. I got these and INSTANT RELIEF. Looks 5/10- Definitely noticeable on me. They do make under my bottom lip stick out so I would not wear them to a big event or something, (feel a tad bit like Bubba from Forrest Gump) but if I had them on top too, maybe it wouldn't be as noticeable bc they'd be sticking out equally? To be fair, the braces actually make my lip stick out too, so it is not entirely this contraption's fault. BUT FRANKLY? I don't care that my lip sticks out, bc THE PAIN IS GONE. Wanted to point this out though, especially for kids in school etc. Maybe put them on once you are at home if they are bulging on you too. Temporary/Permanent Fix 10/10- Suggestion: let the braces cut up your mouth. Wear this and allow the ulcers to heal completely. Remove, and voila, should be able to quit wearing it as your mouth will be toughened up and able to deal with the brackets. (I'd definitely want my mouth to have a chance to get used to the braces though- would not put this on first thing, as I would NOT want to wear a guard long term, but boy is it fantastic during healing process) Functionality 10/10- They stay in place great. You cut them to size. They fit perfectly over standard brackets with hooks. I do eat with them in (as I literally cannot eat without it bc the pain is so bad), and then I rinse them (and sterilize with my retainers daily in the retainer/denture cleaner) Taste- none. These are an absolute life saver if your braces are cutting up your mouth! I only wear them at night because I am a side sleeper and I was having a lot of issues clenching, biting my cheeks and the metal just tearing up the inside of my mouth. They have saved me! Putting them on the first time was a learning experience, but once you get it figured out and the feel of how they go around the brackets, its quick and easy. I find that running them under hot water every night before I put them on makes it easier. They stay in place well but they are quite bulky. I would never wear them out and about. They also harden and crack after a few months so I had to order more. ... show more

Don't waste your money. They don't stay on well at all Even after dipping them in hot water they will not conform to your teeth especially if you have to use a couple different pieces to get around brackets. It was definitely a complete waste of money and I would certainly never buy these again.

These are pretty decent, and a good alternative to wax. I find the wax to be difficult only because I was going through so much of it so quickly. Taking all of the wax out to clean your teeth or eat can be difficult, and I definitely think I ate some wax here and there. These comfort bands are pretty bulky, but they are great relief for my cheeks. I like wearing them to bed because I'm a side sleeper, and they keep my braces brackets from tearing up my cheeks while sleeping. Unfortunately, I don't know if I'd wear them outside the house as they literally look like I'm wearing a mouth guard. My mouth can't close with them on, however I have ceramic (clear) upper brackets, which are already bulky to begin with - so that may not be the case for everyone. The fit amazingly over my lower standard braces brackets. They also fit over rubber band hooks very easily. However they don't fit over mollar vand hooks/tubes, this causes them to flare a bit at the end and that can irritate my cheeks. I think it's going to be some trial and error to get the length just right so it doesn't bother my mouth. As some folks have mentioned, they do collect a lot of saliva, so you'll want to make sure you clean them thoroughly. I haven't tried drinking anything with them on yet though. TL/DR: Pros - fit over rubber band hooks easy to put in and they stay on, instant relief for cheeks. Cons- don't fit over molar band tubes/hooks, very bulky, takes a lot of effort to close my mouth, getting the length right can be tricky. ... show more

If I could give more stars I would. Got a thicker wire on my lowers and it’s tearing up my lip. Wax wasn’t cutting it as it would just fall off. This product has brought me so much comfort. Easy to cut to size, no sharp edges. To put it on use your index finger and thumb to separate it wide enough to place over the brackets. It may take a little massaging of the material to stretch it but once it’s separated wide enough it goes right over the brackets with no problem. I wasn’t having issues with my top but I put it on anyways to see if I could eat with them on. It worked, you can eat with them on with no issues. Food did get stuck under but I just popped them off and rinsed the food out. Way easier than cleaning food out of each bracket. I love these and will be ordering another set just to have. Well worth every dollar spent! ... show more

My favorite aspect: These are a lip saver! I have a coil spring on my braces that was cutting up the inside of my lip. This guard worked to cover it so my lip could heal! At first I used it on my whole mouth at night, because I had some hooks on my molars that were cutting me too, but eventually those healed and I only needed a smaller piece to cover the spring and two brackets on each side to keep it in place (both ways pictured). After a few days my lip healed and now seems to tolerate the spring and hooks without needing to wear the guard at all, unless my lip gets bumped hard enough to cut it, then I might use it for a night. The only time I would wear it during the day was for a short time if my lip was hurting and needed a break, especially if I had been singing or talking a lot. Other things I like about them: I have clear Damon braces and these guards fit them perfectly. I really like that they don't have dividers built in like all the other brands I could find, making them more adaptable. As they heat up from the natural temperature in my mouth they form to my hooks well too. They are pretty easy to cut, but you may need to file the edge to get the cut at a good angle so it doesn't irritate your gums. The guards are soft, flexible, and smooth, which makes them pretty comfortable for having rubbery plastic in your mouth. They are much more comfortable than the braces feel against your lips, especially those first few tender days. Negatives: They do collect spit, and can pop off a bit if they get bumped, which makes me feel the need to press on them multiple times an hour when I've been talking to make sure it's still fully connected. I'll try to remember to update my review when I get bottom braces. ... show more

These are a lifesaver! My bottom brackets felt like razor blades against the inside of my cheeks, so terribly painful! These arrived and I washed it, trimmed it to fit my bottom brackets, and popped it on. Super simple to use, and the pain relief was immediate!
