Over the past few years, I have been living with my parents as their caregiver. There have been a handful of times that one of them "slides" down to the floor (legs give out.... thankfully, not a hard fall). But neither can get up easily from the floor so we have to call 911 for assistance. I saw this lift device and thought it might be a good alternative to seven paramedics arriving at the house if the fall was not a bad one. First, this was fairly easy to put together, but as the instructions state, you must apply some pressure to snap the back into place. It wasn't a lot of pressure, but I'm not sure my parents could have assembled this on their own without getting on the floor. Next, I charged it for about half an hour and it worked. The instructions state to charge for 12 hours, which I did the next day, but it was good to know that if the charge was low, it could be plugged in and working fairly quickly in an emergency. I saw other reviews mention not being able to plug in to use, but you don't want an electrical connection when using in a bathtub so the charging makes sense for this device. It's fairly lightweight and easy for me to move, but would not be something my parents would be able to move easily. I envision leaving this tucked away under a bed or couch unless needed. If I'm not in the house, I would leave it out and ready to use in the bedroom. If I am in the house, I can grab it and take it to where it's needed. The raising and lowering is smooth, slow but steady. I used it on a low pile carpet and felt like it could tilt over to the side of the user is not seated on it properly, but I had no issues with it tilting. The seat flaps are fine for when the seat is on the ground, but once the seat goes up, I told my parents under no circumstances should they try to sit on the white seat flaps. They feel like they could easily break off under weight. I do worry once the seat is raised, they might try to slide off the side instead of getting up from the front. Part of the challenge is getting my parents from a laying down position into a seated position so they can "scoot" onto the seat. Neither wants to "try" it right now so I will have to wait for the next fall. I used it repeatedly and felt like it will work great if my parents are able to get in an upright seated position on the floor and then can scoot themselves onto the chair. I am not sure they can use this without some assistance. For someone who has some strength but needs help into/out of a bathtub, this would be fantastic. The price (less than $350 at the time of the review) is reasonable for this medical assistance device.

Summary Overall great product and quality of life improvement for mobility issues by helping seniors or people in recovery to get in and out of a bath. You need to make sure it will fit in your tub and so some prework and measurements are vital. Operation is straightforward once installed but practice makes perfect. It is sturdy for most tubs where it will fit and has a smooth floor that the suctions can stick to. It is heavier at around 25lbs to move and install but the weight adds to the strength. The seat is designed more so for smaller to average sized people (100-200lbs) and the larger you get (up to 300lbs) the more awkward it can be to get in and out. Pro's Huge quality of life improvement for those who struggle getting in and out of the tub. You can now make use of that jacuzzi tub! It has strong lifting capabilities of up to 300 lbs and operates smoothly without straining noises. Battery charges quickly and appears to have a good battery life. It feels sturdy and safe and doesn't feel like it is bending or twisting. Great for post surgery recovery issues or mobility issues in general. Con's The unit itself can be a bit cumbersome to move and get in place and a quick guess puts this at around 25lbs. The weight of the unit lends to how solid it does feel though. The suctions on the bottom won't stick to texture floored tubs and can be a bit of an issue and I would have concerns of it slipping. This ships a large item, so just be aware that you take measurements and review its capabilities before because returning could be a big hassle. Tips Dry run this thing first to get used to the operation without water. Practice getting in and out of the tub and on the seat before doing it in water. Measure your tub and check the dimensions listed. Keep the remote dry and easily grabbed by installing a hook somewhere just outside the tub. Check your tub for a textured surface, if you do have a textured surface you may have to pilot some ideas such as a mat or heavy towel laid down and the unit on top to help it from sliding.

This 2-in-1 lift chair is strong, stable, and easy to operate with simple up/down controls. It lifts smoothly from near floor level to chair height, and fits well even in a regular bathtub. It's a bit heavy to move around, but that's due to its sturdy build. Battery operation makes it safe for wet environments, and setup is straightforward. This lift chair has been a game-changer for my 85-year-old mother-in-law's daily routine. I purchased this product for a family member who is recovering from a leg injury and has difficulty moving around. It has been incredibly helpful and has significantly reduced the effort required for daily mobility. The design is user-friendly and very convenient for those who need extra support.
