Works pretty well but the clamp on attachment does not fit kitchen counters, tables, etc. The screw down part is too deep for any furniture and the clamper doesn't get tight enough to put on the cutting board. I did find our formal dining table was ok if you got one of the ends and then put some wood to thicken the part where you screw it. Winds just fine except it keeps coming off the table. ... show more

Minimalistic, lightweight and does exactly what it's supposed to do. I did experience a bit of a learning curve maintaining tension, and the position of the tension arm changes where the yarn is distributed on the spindle. It was strangely addictive and chill to cake up all of my floppy, unruly skeins. The machine can make a solid cake with a surprisingly small amount of yarn, and tops out at about 200 yards for a size 3 yarn or 150 yards for a size 4. There is nothing wrong with the product. It is more user error. I struggle with keeping it on the roll and it not getting tangled. Requires a lot of focus. The concept is great, price is phenomenal and it’s sturdy. Best use for smaller skeins

Didn't realize how much it makes yarn crafting so much easier. Finding the center pull was always the difficult part of yarn, but now I just ball it up all like this and it is perfect. I also like the control that you get with having the crank instead of it being electronic.
