We took the weird velvet off the chain. And the gold bits all broke through the cardboard of the box. But they seem to really know this happens and prepared it in a couple sturdy boxes. The gold bits can be easily shifted from leaning to straight so even though it looked scary when it came, the fixture was actually unscathed. It's big and pretty. This chandelier was the perfect touch of elegance to my great room. The lighting is bright enough to light the whole room and it pairs well with my ceiling medallion which makes it look even more classy!! I hired a professional electrician to assemble and install.
