Doesn't come fully assembled, so take the time to attach the wheels and everything before you need to use it. Once it is fully assembled, it is very simple to set up and move around as necessary. If you don't already have one, you'll likely want a large gig bag as this stand is HEAVY.

This stand is incredibly heavy duty for the price. It’s a serious piece of kit. I was actually a bit caught off guard upon receiving it at just how heavy it is. It’s quite a bit heavier than a typical c-stand. Almost seems overkill for use with a 1 lb shotgun mic. There’s definitely no need to sandbag the base or even counter-weight the boom for light-to-medium applications with microphones or small lights. I was originally planning not to install the casters on the legs, but after briefly picking it up and carrying it around, the casters felt like more of a necessity than an option. It’s a lot of weight to move around without them. I also own the Fotodiox equivalent to this stand which goes for about the same price, and that one is considerably more light weight. It’s still a good stand, but more along the lines of what I would expect for $100. This AxcessAbles on the other hand could easily cost more and still be worth it. The only drawbacks that keep it from being a truly professional product are the plastic knobs, casters, and various other bits. They’re the kind of plastic you see on a lot of low budget gear, which seems like it could break with frequent use, and those parts feel like an odd contrast in quality compared to the build of everything else. So that’s obviously where the compromise lies and why it can be priced as cheap as it is. I suppose the knobs and casters could be replaced with more sturdy components if you feel the need. Due to the weight and size, I’d say this stand is more suited to live in a studio than to get carted around between different recording/shooting locations. But if you’re willing to haul it, I could see it being useful in lots of situations and environments. ... show more

This unit is heavy duty, a solid unit. Definitely recommend for anyone with a decent space it can take up some room whereever you have it setup, but it is sturdy.

The title says it all... this stand is made of tough materials, to make it durable. Let's start with the cons... the wheels are a bit of a let down. They don't move smoothly and damage the overall rating of the rest of the product. The boom pole can't carry much, so the fixed weigh at the end of it is equal to the weight of the microphone it can carry at the most. The pros are: it's easy to work with and folds into a smaller storage size. While open it reaches far beyond what every studio might need. Even with a 10 feet green screen at the background, it can still be out of the frame. I wish they added a ball head or joints, so it can double as a crane for a camera, but as it is, I'm very impressed and think that it justifies its price. ... show more

I rely on customer reviews anytime I shop online. When considering this microphone boom I wanted to first and foremost ensure the build quality was good and that it would get the job done. When it arrived and upon opening the box (shipped via a box within a box as it should) I was impressed. Yes, it is heavy (25 pounds) but that helps ensure it provides a stable platform to hold a variety of microphones with the boom fully extended. I tested the boom at full extension and noticed no droop at all. All components are sturdy and work well. The wheels work OK when the legs are fully extended but not well if the legs are only partially extended. No issue. One could substitute higher quality silicon wheels as an option. Very good studio boom stand for the price. It's heavy and stays standing--my large condenser can go the full 8' off to the side without needing sandbags. The wheels are low quality, and not heavy duty enough, but the stand can be used without them. The adjustment bolts are a little undersized and will wear out eventually, but they're acceptable.
