  • One side to large
I got it installed and the holders only fit one side. I cannot see how to contact the seller. I will probably modify the holder to try to get it working. From tne other reviews it is probably just a bad one. But it has been to long to return. After a little file work everything fit. It was not the handle angle ... show more

  • Pretty good for the price.
It is a lot better then the lantern holder I was using before it, it was easy to set the height and it was pretty easy to modify the 1/2" tool holder blocks to 5/8" I just took out the set screws and evenly as I could ground and cut away from the top, "where set screws come through and hold the tool" about 1-2mm, it made a tight fit but I prefer my tools to not have a ton of wiggle room. This action my not be recommended but i didn't have a lot of money to buy the 5/8" holds out of the gate so, you just make do. Cons, there seems to be some play in the mechanism that drives the wedges but not enough to be an issue. ... show more

  • What was I thinking........
This tool post did not meet my expectation for quality. WhiIe it does work for the intended purpose, some of the moving parts have a lot of slop and play. I purchased this to replace a used and worn american made tool post only to find out my old tool post has less slop and holds a tool holder better and operates smoother than this piece of junk. Spend a fraction more and get something better. I'm going to put this on the shelf with my other lessons learned. UPDATE: I disassembled the tool post and cleaned the grit and dirt from the moving parts. While I had it disassembled I took some measurements and Identified the source of the slop in the rotating part of the tool post. It turns out that stationary screw was .010 too long. Some careful machining of said screw to make it .008 shorter and a dab of grease made this tool post operate a lot better. ... show more

  • easy install on grizzly g4000
easy install, bought a 9/16 -18 tap and drill combo for 15$, drilled out slide, took maybe 30 min. easy install on grizzly g4000. seems nice, havent actually used yet. if it blows up, ill change my rating. i am a rank amateur and new to machining generally, so this is my first toolpost aside from the stock one. seems easy to adjust and very stout. i am glad i bought. ... show more

  • Good QCTP
Perfect for a home shop lathe. No way I could justify spending 3-4x the money for an Aloris or comparable. It’s a simple mechanism. Put it on my Clausing 100. Needed to machine the block for the compound but that’s to be expected. I just wish the handle took less rotation to move the wedge. I’ve run into having to remove the handle to get tool holders out but that’s rare. ... show more

Nice set and easily mounted on my G4000 lathe, great upgrade.

  • Good quality for the price
These are a nice quality. It would be nice if they included a t nut that actually fit someone's lathe. They wouldn't be universal then since the size varies from lathe to lathe. I will buy again.

  • Does a good job.
I replaced a lantern tool post on a vintage Southbend 9" lathe. This sped up production tremendously.
