Mounted this on a box truck for a mobile retail business. It has stood a season's worth of sun and wind and has held up well. We actually have 2 of them now. The electric option is well worth it because it takes a lot of turns with the hand crank to extend and retract. One thing to note is that in strong winds the gas cylinders can't keep the awning at full extension so you need to anchor the outer roller with weights or tie to some other fixed object. The only page in the manual that you need is how many inches to add to the brace on centers. Mine was 14 ft so actual was 14’3’’ . Burn the other pages. If you HAD an awning and the wind blew it off - this unit will work with the fabric rails already there - if you didn’t remove them. Step 1 - install brackets with the 2 holes facing up and the 1 hole down exactly 5 inches from the top of camper and on center based on size. Do not use a drill except to make a pilot hole - Gap side of bracket out so arm can slide under the lip. Do not remove the velcro. Use the large screws to carefully hand tighten the top 3 holes 1st because the bracket aligns with a hole in the arm. Then screw bottom. The middle screw can be put in later. Step 2 If you are using the included fabric runners, measure up 5” from where you put them for the brackets. Use the included gray tube and feed through the top of fabric 1st. After tube is fed - slide through the rails until equal distance between brackets. Let the fabric hang and screw the 2 small self tapping screws into top of fabric rail. Step 3 Use small screws and attach the roller poles together - make sure the motor is on the side where switch is/going to be. Use other gray tube and feed through the bottom of fabric. Without rollers attached to arms - use 2 people to feed the bottom fabric through the slot of roller arm. Remove velcro and SLOWLY lower arms while holding roller with 2 people. Step 4 Use the 2 bolts to attach the roller to each arm. I used a ladder to hold the middle - this takes a little effort because the arms are longer than the fabric so you have to bolt 1 side and then release some tension to get the other side Once bolted - make sure fabric is equal distance from each end of roller. Temp wire the motor and slowly retract until motor stops - use the green tool included to adjust close distance to - about 10 turns is 2 ft - once you get 2” from fully closed - only turn about 1/4 turn until it closes flush Extend awning and use same procedure using other hole in motor to fully open where flap hangs. Note - if fabric starts to bunch up or shift, it needs adjusting at the top of camper - just pull 1 or 2” until it rolls straight Step 6 - Extend and Retract a few times - some popping and creeking is normal. Now - install middle 2 arm screws - hand tighten. Throw all the extra crap away I put a dab of F26 on the screws going into camper for extra strength You need - 3 people and 2 ladders Good luck ... show more

The directions, video, and brochure are horribly written. What should have taken fours hours turned into twelve. We had to remove the first installation and reinstall because of the directions. We finally used YouTube. A customer had the same issues with this product so he shared his experience and how to install it. Well organized, fairly easy to install. The only difficulty was the bars on this particular camper, which is a Flagstaff 25FK as the Bar is just at the very tip of my external hose.. I didn’t use their switch; it did work with my switch, which it doesn’t automatically go out with let me run it out and bring it back. I use the one they offered to adjust the distance and the return and it worked perfectly.. the LED light track I bought fit also perfectly into their slot. You can see in the pictures.. my particular like in this thing is that they have a knob to lower one side or the other to let off the excess rainwater the old one I had actually had a bolt and it sucked. I also like that you can use a hand crank to bring it up, which is very helpful for renting it out. There was one issue with the distance between the side of the camper and the roller bar. There is no distance and Ashley pressed against the camper and the bars them selves did not close completely so they may want to add a bracket to make it about 4 inches out so that the bars go flush. The included Velcro straps will be helpful because of that not closing completely.. ... show more

I ordered a 19' awning. I had a dealer install as I really didn't have anyone available to help install at the time. You must have 2 people to install. The awning fabric looks sturdy. All brackets are strong and excellent quality. I had a part on the roller tube bent possibly in packaging at the factory. I contacted the seller and they were really fast in getting back to me with a solution. They indicated I could bend the part out and use with no issues. They also said they would overnight the damaged part. I choose to have the dealer make adjustments to the part. It worked fine. The limit switch as it's rolling up to the stored position worked fine. The position after rolling the awning out to it's fullest position wouldn't set. I know to release the button so no really big deal. So far the awning is really much better than the original 22 year old one I replaced. The electric feature is somewhat slow but works fine. I think it will hold up a long time. Happy with the item and install. I saved over $1000 going this route as opposed to buying from Camping World who wanted $2600! ... show more

The quality of this awning is great! The awning fabric looks great! It is a two person install, so do not attempt to install it by yourself. Awning does not come with lights, so buy separate LED light strip sold on Amazon.

Like others have mentioned the instructions are a bit rough. The video helps a little bit as well. But that being said I put it together on my lawn and got all my mounting measurements that way. It wasn’t bad at all once I unboxed everything. Pretty straightforward. I did probably 80% of the install by myself. I did seal around all the bolts with silicone. ... show more
