It is a good product but the problem is that it costs a lot to connect it to the CarPlay, I already linked it and everything, but when I turn off my car and then turn it on, it no longer connects again, it counts a lot, it is a big problem, the truth is.

I really like how easy this Head unit is to install it looks factory and is 100% better than the OEM unit that came with my 2019 Tacoma the steering wheel controls are flawless backup camera works great. The sound quality is amazing it connects very quickly to my iPhone Apple Carplay works very well. The only problem I had was I could not get it to display Fahrenheit it was stuck on Celceus and the Boot Logo I could not change the Logo to Toyota I contacted Tech Support and they are very responsive Kelly that works there is very helpful and quick to answer any issues and concerns I had. we were able to change the temp to the Fahrenheit the Boot logo I was not able to change and really not a big deal. I do recommend this product it's a great value at a great price point.

I bought a 2021 Tacoma-TRD Of-Road 4x4 Access Cab V6 (with the "technology package"). Although the truck functions as expected the stereo/head unit is unbelievably childish. It's almost like it is locked and/or in some type of "demo" mode. This factory unit does not allow simple activities like downloading installing/apps, connecting to wifi, installing maps, wired connections, usb connections, etc.. You can't turn off the warning splash screens. Change the background. You can't watch videos. You can't access the backup camera unless you are in reverse. YOU CAN'T simply MUTE the stereo (you have to actually exit the source). YOU CAN'T turn off the unit. You can only turn off the display. The GUI is like something from a 1984 MacIntosh computer. The interface is clunky, antiquated and useless. It has a Toyota version of the SiriusXM app that seems like it was created in the 90's. Every time you take the truck to Toyota and ask for modifications, updates, fixes and or configuration they say "why don't you just connect your phone". OMG..... Why connect my phone if I can just USE MY PHONE. .... So unbelievable it seems like a joke. The OEM Factory stereo units on these trucks are so stupid, lame and ridiculous that I can't believe they were even engineered/installed. So dumb. Hoping someone else out there has the same opinion and knows of a head unit you can buy for these Tacomas that will plug and play and actually be useful. What about this one?

great looking but other then that its junk linked 1 time and that was it. no tech support number so your on an island if you have a problem. manual is a joke clock only has military time and speed is only kilometers

I recently purchased the AWESAFE CarPlay Radio Stereo Head Unit for my 2016 Toyota Tacoma and was pleased with the level of support I received from the manufacturer when I had an issue installing the unit. The staff answered my questions and solved the problem I had during installation. The head unit is now installed, works well as advertised and most importantly sounds great!
