► Why I like it: After seeing so many cooks on the cooking channels use this style of lemon and lime juicer, I decided that I had to get one for myself. I shopped and considered which model and eventually decided on this one for a few reasons. Please bear in mind that any hand juicer is only going to be as good as the actual hands that do the squeezing. First, it is made of all metal. It has no plastic parts to break under the severe strength and compression that squeezing would be putting it through. This was perhaps the most important point for my consideration, as I know from past experience that no plastic will hold up for long at all when subjected to such fatigue. I did not want to waste my money with a less expensive but plastic containing juicer. Being metal, it will also stand up much better in the dishwasher and I will not have to worry about making sure it is on the top shelve of it. It is quite durable. Second, it has a soft grip on the handle which protects my hands from being hurt when compressing the handles. This is so important, as without it, the edges of any metal juicer would hurt my hands. Basically, if you don't have soft handles, you will never be able to fully juice whatever you are squeezing due to the pain that would develop in your hands. Provided you have the hand strength, this juicer will literally flatten lemons to get every last drop of juice available. One thing that struck me so many times when I saw the TV chefs using these is that they placed the lemon in what seems upside down in them. You would think that you place the rind side out and the softer juicy interior facing the metal presser matching the shape of the lemon to the shape of the juicer. I did this first, and while it got a lot of juice, it did not seem to get it all. So for a second squeeze, I flipped it over and placed the rind side towards the presser. This crushed more juice out of it and literally completely flattened the lemon half! Amazing. I'm still playing around with it, but I think next time I use it I will just start it off with the upside down version I keep seeing on TV. It takes two hands to do a good job squeezing, so you won't see me doing it at my best on the video because I was reaching out and around the camera and away from my body, thereby loosing a lot a strength in my hands and arms. I have found it a LOT easier to use when I am not trying to film at th same time. I've learned now that for me, I first squeeze it on the “lemon matching juicer” side, then I squeeze it a second time for even more juice in the “upside down looking” side. All in all I like this and am happy I bought it. ► Pros: Gets every last drop of juice. Metal construction with soft grips. ► Cons: Requires strong hands. Not for arthritic hands. ► Suggestions for Improvement: None. ► Would I buy again? After a month of usage of this juicer I can say that it is a great product and it is the best one in its class of squeezers but I want to explain why. It is must-to-have such a solid tool in the kitchen. I will give instructions for its usage and will also explain how to prepare the fruits for squeezing to get the maximum juice from them with this juicer First of all, it is made from AISI 304 stainless steel (which is the same as 18/10 stainless steel and contains 18–20% chromium and 8–10.5% nickel.) and the surface is fine polish. Due to this it is heavy duty, almost unbreakable and quite easy to clean. This is a plier-like squeezer with two handles and two nested cone-parabola-like cups between which are put the fruits for juicing. The lower cone/bowl has holes from which the juice flows and no seeds or pulp goes out ot them. Next, the handles are covered with non-slip red silicone sleeves. In the way the juicer is received now, the silicone sleeves easily come out of the grips for which some reviewers take one star. This is the only serious critic to the manufacturer. The sleeves go out as the handles are polished very good. I have fixed the silicone sleeves to their places by several drops of Loctite 454 adhesive and now they have no chance to come out again. Of course, one can use the juicer and without the silicone sleeves but with them the grip is more sure and comfortable. The handles are not hollow and are made of solid stainless steel. If the handles would be a little longer, say by an inch, it will be needed less force to squeeze fruits. For me this is not a problem. Now follows the most essential part of the juicer, the two approximate cones between which are put the fruits (see below for their preparation). The geometrical forms and sizes for these parts are chosen very carefully in such a way as they to correspond the dimensions and forms of the average sizes of lemons, limes and similar citrus fruits. In particular, it is taken into account the thickness of the bark of the fruits. Exactly here is the main difference of the Bellemain Lemon Squeezer from similar juicers. In particular, I have compared it with the Innovee Lemon Squeezer - Quality 18/10 Stainless Steel Manual Citrus Press With Lemon Recipes Ebook and Chef'n FreshForce Citrus Juicer (Lemon) and can say that the Bellemain Lemon Squeezer is better and with it can be obtained more juice than with them if average size fruits are used. In the supplied Squeezer there are not instructions for usage or some kind of a manual which is noted in some reviews. This is an omission of the manufacturer. Let me give a few instructions how to use the Squeezer and how the lemons/limes should be prepared so one can squeeze more juice from them (see the attached images): 1) Wash the citrus fruit 2) Cut the both ends so the bark is almost removed. This opens more space for the upper cone to press down. 3) Cut the fruit about the great circle (i.e. along the middle) in two approximately equal parts. 4) Turn the obtained halves with their wider part upwards. Make at the end of the circle edge of each part 6-10 cuttings of the bark with, for example, 5-9 mm depth. This is very important because otherwise the edges of the bark will remain distorted (not inverted) after squeezing, which will result in loss of juice. 5) Put one of the halves with the wider part down in the squeezer and press the grips with one or two hands until the two cones almost touch each other. Take the remains out and repeat the procedure with the second half but do not remove the remains. Keep in mind that a little juice remains between the two nested bowls/cups. Tilt the Squeezer to pour this juice. 6) Open the juicer and put the remains of the first half upon the remains of the second half. Press again and you will get more juice. Open the juicer, interchange the places of the remains of the two halves and press again. In this way you will get several more drops of juice. I firmly recommend the Bellemain Lemon Squeezer! Pleasant lemon/lime juice drinking!

I owned a standard yellow-enamel cast (aluminum?) squeezer that worked fine until one day it didn't--it broke catastrophically. (You've all seen them--smaller green squeezers for limes, medium-sized yellow ones for lemons, and large orange ones for oranges.) I am male, 6'5", and 200 lb.; have a (relatively) strong grip I guess; and try to get all (or most of) the juice out, so I imagine the pressure was too much and the handle snapped. (Luckily I was not hurt.) I bought two of these Bellemain stainless steel squeezers from Perella's with the hope that they won't break. So far (after approximately one month; used every other day) they are holding up well even under my hand pressure. Yes, there could be some additional holes provided (can the S/S be drilled?), and the red silicone grips on the handles shift around too easily (hence only 4 out of 5 stars), but overall these are working satisfactorily so far. They seem strong and well made. Contrary to one (misdirected?) comment, water does _not_ collect or remain in the handles after washing on this model as the handles are not open to the outside. Looking at them, the weak point will probably be at the hinge area, but so far they are holding up. Delivery was quick and free, I believe, as I bought two. My opinion so far is that it is worth spending more for these stainless steel lemon squeezers in comparison to the (less expensive) cast metal ones commonly seen in supermarkets and elsewhere. 04/08/2017 Update: I have been meaning to provide an update. Here it is finally: So far (over two years) these have been GREAT. They stand up to repeated use (about once every two weeks) and dishwasher washing. Yes, they can collect rinse water in the outside (top) of the squeezer when they are in the dishwasher oriented with the non-drilled concave part facing upward; but so what? So would any cup, bowl, or glass with its open-end facing upward. Easy to deal with or avoid (e.g., orient side-ways in the dishwasher). One trick I learned, when you first get them (I have two), pull off the red silicone hand grips and toss them away. They are unnecessary (and constantly move around). The handles are smooth and comfortable enough without the grips. So Five Stars now for quality and durability. I hope that the current items are (a) still available and (b) made in the same, quality way. (I haven't needed new ones and maybe never will; we'll see.) 12/08/17 Update -- Still going strong; still GREAT. Toss the red grips and these are PERFECT.

I was hesitant as to which one to order, this one or the Jumbo Lemon Squeezer by Mediterranean ways, because didn't want to have difficulty squeezing big lemons and I want something that will be comfortable in doing so, since my joints started to show it's tear and wear from aging.For some reason, and in the last minute I decided to order this instead and take my chances. I was concerned how comfortable the handle may or may not be, specially when the lower one is not grooved to accommodate the fingers. Although I received this late afternoon yesterday, out f the box, I was really impressed by the quality of the product, it is extremely well made (Solid, non- hollow handles, so sturdier, does the work for you and no grooves to collect mess), the grip was extremely comfortable, the size was very adequate not just for the biggest lemon you likely will ever buy, but likely for a small orange as well, so naturally I couldn't resist the temptation, but to wash it, and make a salad so I can find an excuse to try it out. Oh, my lord, with very very easy squeeze (both hands, since lemon was very large), I had so much juice flooding out of the pores, like I never did before or ever will be squeezing this lemon by hand. my joints did't hurt, the lemon didn't became slippery and fall and didn't even have to worry about the seeds falling into my food because they were trapped with the skin.. it is one of the best things I ever bought in a while, I would definitely and highly recommend it. I will likely get another one before they stop making or change them... Couple of points... will try to update and load photos later 1- The hand welding that previous customers commented on. Mine came completely welded along the width of the handle and looked very sturdy (although it would have probably better if they could have made it as one cast with no welding at all) 2- The pin that connect the 2 plates together, is not hollow like the one shown in the photos, which I was concerned about, because I saw it as a weak point that will be easy to break and you end up with 2 separate useless plates, but obviously it either happened already or someone had the same concern, so they fixed it, now it is a solid, non- hollow (although no way for me to swear, but at least that is how it looks sideways, unlike the old ones), although I have been with Amazon for many years and bought a lot over the years, I don'y write a lot of review, but this one I felt very enthusiastic that I have to do and immediately.. I am so happy that I didn't but the cheap crappy ones at Walmart

We (my family and I) use this Lemon Squeezer everyday, several times a day. We make our own lemonade by the glass, with fresh lemons and stevia drops, so a durable product is a must. In looking for a replacement, I was looking for one that would last. I am hoping that this one will be better than the enamel coated squeezer that we just disposed of; maybe because it was not rinsed after each use. Anyway, because we squeeze lemons so frequently, we have come to be experts (of sorts) at getting all the juice out of the lemons. Here is what I do: 1st - Roll the lemon on the counter top (smashing it under your hand as you roll) to "soften" it. This will allow it to release more juice. 2nd - Rinse/wash the waxy coating and/or dirt & pesticides (for non organic lemons) off of the peel, because the juice will come in contact with the peel during the squeezing, You don't want those things in your juice. 3rd - Cut in half (NOT end-to-end, but across the thick middle). 4th - Place cut side down in the squeezer and squeeze over a glass or bowl. Remove 1st half and repeat with the 2nd half. 5th - Now take both halves (which will be somewhat inside out), turn them right-side out and flatten them into a half circle, as if you were going to squeeze by hand. Place both halves in the squeezer facing (open side) toward each other. Squeeze. Or you can do as my son does and place the flattened halves on top of each other in the squeezer and squeeze. 6th - sometimes if I think there is more juice in there, I will add his method after mine. Love the silicone handles. My son complained that his hands hurt when using our other squeezer, but this one doesn't hurt, and allows more power when squeezing. The lower silicone handle began slipping off during our vacation (yes we brought our squeezer), so I removed it, washed it, and replaced it while forcing any water out of the sleeve. It seems to be secure now. The only thing that would make this the absolutely perfect Squeezer, is if it didn't open all the way (180 deg). It becomes unbalanced if resting on a glass (while removing and adding lemon halves). If it only opened to 90 deg, it would balance on the top of a glass. Not a big deal, but it was a nice feature of our former squeezer. Highly recommend this squeezer. I love it. If want it to last, you will need to be sure the juice is rinsed off regularly so it doesn't pit or damage the finish.
